my thoughts were broken when i heard the sound of my coms ringing.
"hola. luis here. you guys still around?" i heard luis speak through my earpiece.
"luis. good to hear from you" i said. before i could say more leon butted in.
"well i wanted to go home but ashley just had to see this castle first" he said in a sarcastic tone making ashley giggle at the comment. i gritted my teeth slightly. no way i was getting jealous of whatever was going on between the two.
"perfect because i have a present i want to give to you. medicine that will help to suppress the progress of your...problem..." luis said back to leon.
"great where do we go" i said into my earpiece wanting to say something to feel relevant.
"let's see... come to the courtyard inside of the castle. we can meet up there senorita. ciao!" he said in a flirtatious voice to me. i glanced over at leon quickly seeing him clench his jaw slightly. i smirked.
"ciao ciao hermoso!" i said flirting back.
"alright... ashley. luis just said-"
"i got it. guess we better get going" she said awkwardly trying to ease some of the tension away from leon and i. we walked through the archway into the first area of the castle. i saw the familiar purple flame of the merchant. i still wonder how he moves around so fast. i gave him my knife and some pesetas allowing him to fix it before slipping my vest over my head and letting him fix that as well.
"here you are doll. don't break it too fast now eh" he said with his usual gruff laugh at the end. leon gave him a few things and as we were leaving i could hear him shout slightly.
"don't get yourself killed now haha" i smiled waving at him before walking to catch up with leon and ashley. leon climbed up some stairs while ashley and i looked around the small courtyard we were in.
"sooooo..." ashley whispered to me slightly. i looked over at her confused.
"what's going on between you and leon?" she asked trying to get some info out of me. i swear if she's trying to see if he's single...i looked away trying to find some materials.
"he's single as far as i know if that's what you're asking" i said not even looking at her.
"no no no that's not what i meant even though he is quite the catch" she said waving her hands slightly "i mean do you guys know each other before this"
"i- uh yeah we do but we aren't super close. i met him 6 years ago and this is the first time i've seen him since" i said back to her trying to keep it vague.
"well you guys have great chemistry. plus i think he likes you" she said nudging my side with her elbow slightly. i rolled my eyes at the remark shaking my head.
