leon and i made it back to the village before hearing several growls behind us.
"leon watch out" i said shooting at a rabid dog running at leon. he turned right as it was leaping at him and he threw it away from him. a few more dogs came running at us and leon and i took them down. we looked through the village to see if there were any materials we missed before coming across a well with a ladder going into it.
"oh no i'm not going in there" i said the smell of literal shit and trash hitting my nose.
"well do you see another way around the debris?" leon asked beginning to climb down the ladder. i groaned before dropping down behind him.
"we does EVERY mission i go on involve me crawling through some form of sewer" i mumbled angrily. leon let out a small laugh. i glared at him before hearing him click his flashlight on. we walked through a small tunnel before coming across another ladder.
"ladies first" leon said motioning for me to go up first. i rolled my eyes and climbed up the ladder before seeing a woman turned away from the ladder. i pulled my knife out its sheath and quickly and silently took her down. leon emerged from the hole and saw the dead lady at my feet. he tilted his head and squinted slightly before smiling and unlocking the door with the same insignia as the key we found. this was the same door the villagers had gone through earlier.
"what'd that man mean when he said 'your blood has accepted the gift?'" i asked breaking the silence between us.
"i don't know astrid i'm just as confused" leon said looking over at me. we searched through the building we were in. i grabbed some papers on a table reading over them quickly.
"it seems like they have their own bible of sorts" i said to leon as he looked for more materials we could use. we walked outside before hearing a familiar gruff laugh.
"i have some new goods that might interest you strangers" the merchant said motioning us over. i looked over at leon who was reading something before walking over to the merchant. i pulled out some loot that i had found giving it to him in exchange for money. he thanked me putting his hands together before opening his coat and showing me the new items he had.
"thank you merchant but i think i'm good for now" i said giving him a smile. he chuckled back.
"all good doll don't worry about it. don't get yourselves killed now eh?" he said with a chuckle as leon and i began to walk away from him.
"doll?" leon asked looking over at me cringing at the nickname.
"i don't know he just called me it when we met and i didn't feel like saying anything" i said walking forward toward a graveyard of sorts. he just hummed in response. i crept behind a man in the graveyard and silently stabbed him effectively killing him. after taking down all of the villagers near the church we walked up to it. i groaned holding the side of my head. this migraine is killing me. i felt leon's eyes bore into the side of my head before turning to observe the locked gate blocking the entrance.
