"wouldn't make me use this, would you?" she asked i felt the cold barrel of her gun trail against me before moving to leon. leon dropped his gun on the floor and i did the same.

"well after six years, that is one hell of a greeting...ada" leon said with a slight grit to his tone. i clenched my jaw.

"you don't seem surprised. interesting...i see you still have that dead weight following you around" she said clearly in reference to me. i slightly moved my foot back towards the woman. her gun jerked over to my back once more. i turned knocking her gun away from me. grabbing her arm in one hand and my knife in the other as she tried to hit me with the butt of her gun. i let go of her arm and took a swipe at her but she moved back just in time. i tried again but she ducked. i was starting to get annoyed. i threw a jab at her but she caught my arm. then sent her leg flying up trying to kick me but i caught it. she let me go and spun trying to punch me but i caught her hand and spun so my knife was against her throat.

"try using knives next time. better for close encounters" i said as her eyes darted to leon.

"not a bad move...dead weight" she said looking back at me with a smirk "very smooth" she said looking leon up and down. i gritted my teeth a ping of jealousy washed over me.

"so who're you working for this time?" leon said walking over to us.

"ohhh leon. you know i don't work and tell" she said in a seductive voice a playful gleam in her eyes. i pushed her away from me dropping my knife to my side keeping it out just incase. i began walking away from the two sheathing my knife before i heard ada speak up.

"leave the girl. she's lost no matter what you walk away now and who knows? maybe you'll live to meet me again and then i might get you that "greeting" you were looking for" she said intending that last part for leon. the thought of those two together made me see red.

"you think we're gonna give up that easy?" leon said in an annoyed tone.  ada let out a sigh and dropped her head before turning it toward us.

"right. how about we continue this discussion another time" she said before grappling out of the window. i crouched down to pick up my gun not saying a word to leon. he did the same. things definitely felt awkward between us. he looked out the window before letting out an annoyed chuckle before sighing and staring out the window once more. i just started walking around the room trying to figure out how to leave.

"last person i thought i'd run into here..." leon said walking over to me. i hummed in agreement picking up a stone with a blue symbol on it.

"astrid...hey" he said gently wrapping his hand around my wrist. i clenched my jaw when he did.

"yeah" i said trying not to sound like i was about to strangle the woman who was just here.

"you aren't a dead weight you never have and you never will be" he said softly. he turned me around staring at me. when i saw the look in his eyes all the anger i was feeling left me entirely. i took a deep breath in closing my eyes before nodding my head. he gently hugged me before speaking again.
