"...What do we know about the beyond? Do we know what's behind the beyond? I'm afraid some of us hardly know what's beyond the behind... Creatures of twilight and delusion. And that is why, I feel the best thing is not to be born..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"How's your head, darling?"
"I haven't had any complaints."
"I beg your pardon?" He asked with confusion. Also not quite understanding why his driver was snickering in the front seat at your comment.
"It feels okay." You answered seriously, suppressing your smirk. "Just very tender."
"It will feel better soon." He said reassuringly. "Just keep an eye on it. Did the animals eat today?"
"One tarantula didn't." You answered. "The black and white one... By the way, you could have warned me about the noise they make when their fangy things pierce into food."
Alastor leaned his head back against the seat for a moment as he let out a soft laugh in amusement. "Threw me off guard the first time I heard it, too. Viscous little hunters."
You gave him a peculiar look before shaking your head. Unable to stifle a small chuckle, yourself. Looking out the window you noticed the scenery had changed to a lazy countryside somewhere on the outskirts of a bayou. Quite a ways from his side of town. You and Alastor had been traveling for a while, you could only wonder where you were. "So where are we going?" You wondered.
"To see someone I do business with."
"Why?"
"Some things you don't need to know the details to, my dear." He said with an urging smile.
"You really keep me in suspense." You said dryly.
"It truly isn't anything that would concern your knowledge." He said simply with a shrug.
You repressed a sigh. Perhaps you should have been more used to him leaving you in the dark by now. Albeit, informing you as much as he already had was more than he was typically willing to offer; and you supposed you were content with that. Really, you were more curious as to what his 'surprise' was, rather than whatever business he had to attend. You could guess what the business was related to, perhaps drugs or money. Whereas what he had in mind for you, well, that somehow felt more vague.
"Warm one out today." He then sighed. Rolling up the sleeves to his button up and securing them at the elbow. "Hard to believe it's autumn."
You nodded.
"I'm glad I wore something light." You agreed, fanning yourself slightly by gently tugging on your collar repetitively.
Before Alastor had left for work that day he had told you before hand to dress somewhat nicely before he came back to retrieve you; nothing too flashy or for late evening, but something more formal. You opted for a day-dress, sap green in color with a more slender, form fitting silhouette; accentuated further with a black belt at the waist. An accented figure was said to be the all the rage in the near future of fashion. As far as trends went, you seemed to like it.
You even had gone as far as to apply a hint of rouge and some mascara just to make the look feel more complete. When it was done, you rather liked how you looked before you left the house. Alastor thought you looked lovely as well.
