(Content Advisory⚠️: There's a smut scene in this chapter, but it won't take up the whole thing. A warning will be placed before the scene begins, and a few 's will be at the end of the scene in case anyone would rather skip it and carry on with the story. I couldn't decide on whether to write spice or substance, so here's both.)

~~~~~~flashback~~~~~~
"Y/n M/n L/n, your immortal soul now stands before the archangels Michael and Gabriel."
Kneeling before two messengers of God, you sat with your head hung low.
White feathers on heavenly wings fluttered weakly and tiredly, almost iridescent in the light of your halo. Your eyelids felt heavy, almost as if you had just woken up from a hundred year slumber.
The air felt still. Still as the breath in your chest, that no longer seemed to hunger for air. Still as the ceased heartbeat between your paralyzed lungs.
A place of judgement; a place with no warmth, but also nothing unjust. A parallel to absolute nothingness.
Righteousness weighed as heavy in the room as the ache lingering in your tired soul. You could almost still feel his comforting arms around you, the words 'I love you, too' still waiting desperately at the tip of your tongue.
Suddenly a shot rang out; and the next thing you knew you were waking up before two beings. Taller than anyone you had ever seen, angels who seemed to radiate a certain warmth and compassion that surpassed anything within human capacity.
The two looked upon you with a look of sympathy but also slight contempt. Almost like a scorned parent trying to understand the wrongful decisions of a child.
"Today, the final verdict will determine whether you may enter the kingdom of Heaven, or be without peace or hope in Hell." One of the archangels said. The one on the left, who had long, sandy brown hair. The other had hair about the same in length, although straighter and more blonde. You weren't sure who was who.
"Why is there a debate?" You found yourself asking.
"For although the sins you've committed are enough to condemn you," the brunette continued. "your circumstances surrounding them have granted you some leniency. The Lord has noticed your unique situation and looks upon it with sympathy; and decided to hear your plea."
'The sins I've committed?' You wondered silently, furrowing a brow in befuddlement. 'For loving a killer?'
You shook your head. "I don't understand..."
"Your lover on Earth subjected you to eating your own kind," the blonde one clarified. "On repeated occasions. Apart of that, you knew of his hellish ways; and you did nothing to stop how he treated others."
"If you were to ask me, my only sin was falling in love with someone God wouldn't welcome..." you replied quietly. Not quite meeting their gaze that seemed to penetrate through you. "I regret nothing."
"You are as guilty as he, if you do not feel repentant." The blonde stated bluntly. His eyes narrowed in a callous scorn.
"I would not say those people deserved what he did to them. It's not my place to decide whether or not their fates were unjust." You reasoned. "But I couldn't help that I loved him anyway. I still love him... Please tell me, is he okay...?"
The two angels stood quietly for a moment. Their serious expressions never wavering as they seemed to look down their nose at you.
"He awaits his turn like you awaited yours." The brunette answered.
