Hazel's P.O.V
As the days pass by, I find it harder to believe what Kai had told me. It's been two days since he revealed everything about Aiden to me, but so far, there hasn't been any difference in his behavior. Aiden still acts like a regular human being. I wanted to know more about this, so during lunchtime, I searched for Kai. I found him standing in a corner with his friends, and I approached him.
"Kai, can we talk?" I asked him.
He looked at me and gave me a smile. "Yeah, sure," he said, leading me to the library.
"Tell me, what happened?" he asked me.
"Aiden is still the same. There's been no difference in him," I said. "He was like this before he disappeared, so how can he harm the world?"
"Listen, Hazel, right now, he's the same, but on August 7th, 2017, he's going to change," he said, staring right into my eyes.
"Why? What's so special about that day?" I asked.
"On that day, there's going to be a red moon. Red moon that will change him. From that day on, he's going to commit murders around the city," he said.
I felt a chill run down my spine. I said nothing and left the library.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. I tried my best to forget what Kai had told me, but it lingered in the back of my mind. I couldn't help but feel like I needed to do something to prevent the tragedy that he had described from happening.
One day, I decided to confront Aiden about it. I asked him if he knew anything about what Kai had told me. Aiden looked confused and denied having any knowledge about it.
"I don't know what Kai is talking about, Hazel. He must be mistaken," he said.
I didn't know who to believe anymore. It was all becoming too confusing, and I didn't want to ruin my friendship with Aiden over something that might not even be true. So, I decided to let it go and continue living my life as usual.
Months passed, and nothing out of the ordinary happened. August 7th, 2017 came and went, and there was no change in Aiden as Kai had mentioned. It seemed like everything was back to normal, and I had nothing to worry about
Exactly one month later, on September 7th, 2017. I watched Aiden take the knife from the kitchen, and a strange feeling crept over me. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. I followed him and stood behind him as he turned around, holding the knife in his hand.
"What are you doing, Aiden?" I asked, trying to sound calm.
"Nothing just wanted to cut an apple," he said, keeping the knife where it was and leaving the kitchen.
I felt a knot form in my stomach as I watched him leave. I didn't know what to do, but I knew that I had to keep an eye on him. The next day, when I woke up, I saw police officers outside our house.
My heart skipped a beat as I rushed to the living room where I found Lily sitting on the couch. "What happened, Lily? Why are there police officers outside?" I asked, my voice shaking.
"Oh, it's nothing. Yesterday, one of our neighbors got stabbed," she said casually, not realizing the impact her words had on me.
I choked on the water I was drinking as my eyes widened in shock. It couldn't be a coincidence. Aiden had been acting strange, and now someone had been stabbed. The pieces started to come together, and I realized that Kai's warning might have been true after all.
(To be contd......)
