Kai or Aiden

The other day, I had a conversation with Kai who mentioned living near our school. Hearing that, I felt relieved. However, my curiosity got the better of me, and I wanted to learn more from him. Later, after school, I saw him and rushed to ask for his help. "Kai!" I called out, "I need your assistance. Can you tell me about Aiden? Is he planning to continue with his murders?"  I added, "So why would he want to harm the world?"

Kai looked confused and didn't know how to respond. He asked, "How can I help you with this?" I didn't give up and persisted in my questioning. But as I continued to press him for answers, Kai's face turned pale, and he left the school without saying a word.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction that I had gotten to him. "I will uncover the truth about Aiden," I told myself determinedly, as I watched Kai walk towards the exit door.

After a month of investigating Kai, I finally found proof of his true nature. One day after school, I went to find my teacher, Miss Stoddart, but she wasn't there. Instead, I stumbled upon Kai holding a knife to a boy's throat. I hid and watched Kai as he killed the boy by slitting his throat, and the best part is that I managed to record the incident on my mobile.

As Kai approached the door with the boy on his shoulder, my heart raced with fear. I knew I had to confront him, so I gathered my courage and approached him. "Finally, I know the truth about you," I said, showing him the video. Kai smirked and took the boy to the washroom, and I followed him, waiting outside until he emerged.

"Let's see who finds the boy," Kai said as he came out of the washroom. My anxiety grew as I scanned the area, but I couldn't see the boy anywhere. "Wait... where did he go?" I asked, my voice shaking.

"Looks like you're never going to find out," Kai sang, before turning to leave. But then he stopped and turned back to me. "By the way, I killed him by accident," he said, his words hitting me like a ton of bricks. I was frozen in shock as he left, leaving me alone with my thoughts and the weight of his confession. Accident? It didn't look like a accident.

That night, I couldn't shake off the shock of discovering Kai's true identity and the fact that he had been framing Aiden. I hadn't told Lily yet, but I planned to do so soon.

I woke up to find police officers outside our house once again. This time they were at our house too. They were just checking to see if we were alright, but Lily's face was pale in shock at the news of yet another murder near our house. The victim had been stabbed in the neck, just like the previous one.

Lily wanted to talk to me, and I had something important to tell her too. We went to her room and sat on her bed. "I have something important to tell you," we said at the same time. "You go first," Lily said.

"Yesterday, when I went to see Miss Stoddart, I saw Kai..." I struggled to find the right words. "And what?" Lily asked, curious. I showed her the video I had taken, and her expression turned to one of shock. "So, it was Kai who committed the murder, not Aiden," I said, looking at her.

"This can't be possible," she said, still holding my phone. "But yesterday, I saw Aiden leave the house, and when he came back, there was blood on his shirt," she said, confusion etched on her face.

Was it Aiden or Kai who was responsible for the murders?

(To be contd.......)
