Kai P.O.V
"Hazel, can we talk for a minute?" I asked, trying to sound as casual as possible.
"Why? I don't even know you," she replied, sounding a bit defensive.
I sighed inwardly. This was not going to be easy. "Look, I know Aiden has told you about me. Remember when we bumped into each other in the hallway, and you were curious about why I was burning hot?" I said, hoping to jog her memory.
Hazel looked at me skeptically. "So what? What's your point?" she asked.
"I just wanted to tell you everything, about why I'm different," I said, trying to be as honest as possible. "But first, there's something more important. What if I told you I know who kidnapped Aiden and made him disappear?"
Hazel's eyes widened in surprise. "What? How?" she asked, looking a bit frantic.
"It's a long story, and I can't tell you everything right now," I said, taking a step back. "But if you want to know more, meet me at the café near our school after classes end. And please, don't tell anyone you're meeting me."
Hazel nodded, and I watched as she left the washroom. "See you later," I called after her, hoping that she would show up.
I left the washroom as well, feeling a bit apprehensive. I don't know if I was doing this right, telling her the truth.
Hazel's P.O.V
As I walked towards the cafeteria, I couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling that had settled in the pit of my stomach. Kai's words kept replaying in my mind, and I couldn't help but wonder if he was the one who had kidnapped Aiden.
Why was he asking me to meet him alone? And why did he insist that I didn't tell anyone about it? My mind raced with all kinds of thoughts and scenarios, and I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.
As I walked into the cafeteria, my heart sank as I saw Aiden, Liam, and Lily sitting together. Thoughts swirled in my head, and I couldn't bring myself to approach them. After school ended, I knew I had to talk to someone about how I was feeling.
"Lily, can I talk to you please?" I asked softly.
"Sure, what's up?" she replied.
"Not right now, it's personal," I said, hoping she would understand.
"Okay, let's go somewhere more private," she said, leading me to a corner.
I took a deep breath and poured out my heart to her. " At lunchtime, I met Kai and he told me he know about Aiden's disappearance. he told me he will tell about it in the café that's near our school so I am going to go there to meet him."
"Are you sure you're going to be safe?" she asked with concern.
I nodded. "Yeah, I'll be fine. But please don't tell Liam and Aiden about this."
"Don't worry, I won't," she reassured me. "Just be careful, okay?"
As I approached the door of the café, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness wash over me. What would he say? Would he even show up? But as I took a deep breath and stepped inside, my eyes immediately searched for him. There he was, sitting in a corner with his hair falling over his eyebrows, completely absorbed in his phone. I made my way over to him, my heart pounding in my chest, and he looked up as I approached.
"Hi Hazel, you're here," he said, standing up to greet me.
I took a seat in front of him, my eyes fixed on his face. I didn't come here to drink something with him. I had only one question on my mind: what did he know about Aiden?
But when I asked him, he remained silent. I could feel the tension rising in the air between us. And then, without warning, he spoke.
"Whatever I'm going to tell you is going to be hard for you to believe. But the truth is, I'm not a human. And neither is Aiden," he said, his eyes locked on something in the distance, avoiding my gaze.
My heart skipped a beat. What was he saying? Was he joking? But the look on his face told me otherwise. There was something about his demeanor that made me believe that he wasn't lying.
I leaned in closer, trying to make sense of it all. "What are you saying? what do you mean he is not human, he looks like a human?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
He took a deep breath before finally looking back at me, his eyes filled with a sense of dread. "I'm saying that Aiden and I are something else entirely. Something that you couldn't possibly imagine, before he disappeared he was a human but now he is not," he said, his words hanging in the air like a cloud of uncertainty.
I felt a shiver run down my spine. What had I stumbled upon? And what did it all mean? The suspense was unbearable, and I knew that I needed to find out more.
As he spoke, my mind struggled to process the information he was sharing. Ogres? Sharp teeth and nails triggered by the moon? why is Kai an Ogres? Who was this Aiden, and why was he so dangerous?
It was all so surreal, like something out of a horror movie. And yet, the look on his face told me that he was deadly serious.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was this guy for real? And if he was, what did it mean for me? I felt a sense of fear grip me as I considered the possibilities.
But before I could ask any more questions, he leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"Aiden is something else entirely. He doesn't have a name because he's the one who can kill the whole world.
