Hazel's P.O.V
"I can't believe what Liam is telling us," I thought as I looked into his eyes. "He's claiming that his friend gave him a gun, but why would anyone do that?" I asked, trying to make sense of the situation.
Liam quickly replied, "My friend's father is a police officer, and he borrowed it to me."
My mind was racing, and my heart was pounding as I tried to comprehend the gravity of the situation. "We can't just ignore this," Lily chimed in, voicing my thoughts. "It's not safe for us to have a gun, let alone use it."
I mustered up the courage to confront Liam. "We can't resort to violence, and we definitely can't kill Aiden. We need to find another way to resolve this."
Liam remained persistent. "We have to do this tonight, and I need to return the gun tomorrow before my friend's dad comes back from his trip."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This was not the kind of situation I ever expected to find myself in. "We can't go through with this plan," I firmly stated, hoping to convince Liam to reconsider.
"No, Hazel," Liam said as he stepped closer to me. My heart sank as he tried to convince me to do something I knew was wrong.
After a moment of contemplation, I hesitantly agreed, my mind and heart both conflicted. "Okay, I will do it," I said, hoping to end the conversation quickly.
Liam left my room, and I was left alone with my thoughts. I couldn't believe what I had just agreed to do. My mind was racing, and my heart felt heavy with guilt.
Lily began to cry, and I could hear the pain in her voice. "I can't believe I'm letting my brother die," she sobbed.
I couldn't find the words to console her. My guilt was consuming me, and I felt like I had made a terrible mistake. But I knew that I had to see this through and prevent any further harm from occurring.
I took a deep breath and tried to focus on the task at hand. We had to be careful and make sure Aiden didn't suspect anything. It was a risky plan, but it was the only option we had at this point.
Later that day, we came up with a plan to deceive Aiden by convincing him to go camping with us. As we arrived at the forest, we set up our camp and waited until nightfall. We all pretended to go to sleep, and Aiden eventually drifted off too.
I knew what I had to do, but the thought of it made my heart race with fear and guilt. "Lily, Liam, please wait outside," I whispered, my voice barely above a whisper. I took out the gun from my backpack and pointed it at Aiden.
Tears streamed down my face as I hesitated for a few moments, struggling to come to terms with what I was about to do. Finally, I pulled the trigger, and the shot rang out through the quiet forest.
As I opened my eyes, I realized it had all been a memory I was thinking.
(To be contd....)
