"And, that's a wrap!" the director called. "Nice work, Yogi!"
"Hey, hey, hey...I'd say that was better than the aver-age cartoon!" the bear himself said in his sing-song voice.
"Uh, what about me, Yogi?" Boo-Boo asked.
"You were a fantastic co-star as always!" Yogi smiled. "I loved how you did the whole wind-up toy routine! You were better than me!"
"Gee, thanks, Yogi!"
Meanwhile, in the hallway of the studio outside the set, Huckleberry Hound, Pixie and Dixie and Mr. Jinks were huddled around, whispering to each other about a very special occasion that was fast approaching.
"I think I know what we could do for Yogi's birthday this Wednesday!" Huck whispered. "We'll throw him the biggest party he's ever seen! And of course there'll be lots and lots of tasty vittles to go around!"
"If Yogi doesn't eat them all himself," Pixie giggled.
"Like, where are we gonna get all that food?" Jinks wondered.
"Don't worry, fellers," Huck said. "I've got a little extra money I saved for this occasion, plus a little home cooked Huckleberry family goodness to add to the list!"
"Oh, so you're gonna make some stuff for the party?" Dixie asked.
"Yep! I ain't the best when it comes to cookin', but I'm one heck of a baker! I'll whip some real sweet goodies! I know Yogi will love em'!"
"What about a birthday cake?" Pixie asked.
"That's what I was hopin' you ask," Huck replied. He held up a newspaper clipping to show his friends. "Looky here at this new bakery that opened in Hollywood! These here cakes they make sure look pretty, don't they!"
The gang gazed at the photograph in the newspaper. "Oooh!" they chorused.
"But there's no way we could afford a cake that big!" Jinks groaned.
"Never say never, Jinksey!" Huck grinned. "Remember, we're the stars of The Huckleberry Hound Show! We can do anything when we work together!"
"Yeah, besides, this is for Yogi!" Dixie added.
Pixie nodded. "And Yogi's our pal!"
"Why don't we go out for lunch, Boo-Boo?"
"Uh-oh!" Huck whispered. "Shhhh! Here they come!"
The bears soon passed by the gang. "Hiya, Huck!" Yogi greeted.
"Howdy, Yogi!" the hound said, tipping his hat. "How'd filmin' go today?"
"Not bad! We were just on our way to the diner for lunch! Wanna join?"
"Now when do I ever say no?" Huck laughed. "Of course I'll join ya'!" He turned to Jinks and the meeces. "Who else is hungry?"
"WE ARE!!!"
"Well then, let's go!"
So they all made their way to the diner for a tasty lunch. The waitress told them that there was a special on patty melts with a side of chili fries that day, so they all decided to try it. And of course, they all ordered milkshakes like usual.
"These patty melts are honestly pretty good!" Huck beamed. "It's like a whole new way to eat a hamburger!"
"Yeah, and these chili fries are tasty too!" Jinks nodded, after swallowing a few more down.
Yogi tipped the ketchup bottle upside down over his patty melt and a huge glob of it splashed down on top, causing him to laugh. "Well, it's a little sloppy, but I never turn my nose up at something that smells and looks so yummy!"
