It was a sunny day in Hill Street Neighborhood and the gang was gathered at their usual hangout: the malt shop. As they were about to order their milkshakes, Huckleberry Hound had run up to his friends, jumping up and down excitedly and grinning ear to ear. "Yogi! Yogi!" he shouted as he burst into the malt shop. "Fellers! You're not gonna believe this! I've won! I've won!"

"Won what?" Mr. Jinks asked.

"The great mystery prize in the Hill Street Lottery!" Huck cried. "I just happened to buy this raffle ticket at the big festival while I was at the zoo the other day and I got the great mystery prize!!"

"Wow!!!" the others shouted.

"What was the prize?" Pixie asked.

"Well, I dunno!" Huck answered. "That's why it's a mystery!"

"Oh, well, do you know when you'll be getting it?" Dixie asked.

"Any day now!" Huck grinned. "Oh boy, I'm so excited! I keep wondering what it could be!!"

"Maybe it's a million bucks!" Jinks thought.

"Or it could be a lifetime supply of candy!" Yogi added.

"Could it be a free vacation?" Dixie wondered.

"Personally," Huck said, "I hope it's a brand new car! A beautiful fancy sports-type car or a hot rod or something like that!"

A little while later, after Huck invited everyone to his house, they saw a big shipping van pulling up at the front gate.

"Hot dog!!" Huck shouted excitedly. "It's already here!! Oh boy!!"

As the gang walked up to the house, a man in a white uniform hopped out of the van with a clipboard in his hand. "Excuse me?" he called. "Are you Mr. Huckleberry Hound?"

"That's me!" Huck said, smiling.

"I'm Johnny Jones from the Hill Street Lottery board, and I've brought you your fabulous mystery prize, Mr. Hound!" the man said. He opened up the back of the truck and pulled out a strange looking box, covered in a sheet. "It's with great pleasure that I present you with...Waldo!"

Jones pulled the cover off of the box, revealing that it was actually a cage. Inside sat a small brown monkey with a long tail and a silly-looking smile on his face. He opened the cage door and fastened a collar and leash around the monkey's neck.

"Come on out, Waldo!" he said.

The monkey leaped right out of the cage and onto Huck's shoulder!

"Oof!" Huck gasped.

The monkey chittered and looked at Huck, leaning down into his face.

"Uh, howdy there, Waldo!" the hound greeted. "You can just call me Huck!"

"Well, that's all I have for you," Jones said. "Waldo is officially yours now. I hope you two will be very happy together!" He quickly shook Huck's paw, then hopped back into the van and drove away.

"Well, I guess this is the beginning of a wonderful friendship," Huck chuckled, nervously.

After they all went inside, Yogi started petting Waldo on the head. "Isn't he cute?"

"He sure is, isn't he?" Boo-Boo agreed. "Nice to meet you, Waldo! I'm Boo-Boo!"

"Call me Yogi Bear!"

"The name's Mr. Jinks!"

"He's Pixie!"

"He's Dixie!"

The monkey suddenly leaped off of Huck's shoulder and began shaking hands with everyone vigorously. 'Hi, hi, hi!" he cried gleefully. "I think I'm gonna like it here!!" Waldo then began jumping all over Huck's living room, bouncing off of the couch, then swinging from the ceiling lamp and doing a flip as he came back down to land in Huck's favorite chair. "Yep, yep! I sure do like it here alright!!"
