"Oh mah darling, oh mah darling," Huckleberry Hound sang as he took a leisurely stroll one sunny morning. "Oh mah darling Clementine..."

"Oh, good morning, Huck!" he heard a voice call out.

Huck opened his eyes and stopped as he saw one of his neighbors Mr. Bayes trying to clean some items out of his garage.

"Howdy!" the hound greeted, tipping his hat. "How's it going?"

"Oh, just fine. But I'm having a little trouble here," Mr. Bayes answered. "This box is very heavy and I'm trying to move it outside into my car so I can get rid of some of this clutter that's been taking up room in my garage."

"Aw shucks," Huck smiled. "I'll give ya' a hand with that box!"

So he grabbed the box on one side, while Mr. Bayes grabbed the other, and they lifted it into the back of the car.

"Thanks, Huck!" Mr. Bayes said. "You sure are a nice fellow!"

"Anytime, sir!" the hound said, bowing.

He soon continued on his way, continuing to sing and enjoy the sunshine.

"Help! Help!" a woman's voice suddenly rang out. "Princess Fluffy just ran out of the house and up a tree!"

Huck stopped as he looked up the tree nearby and there sat a little fuzzy white kitten, meowing for help.

"Don't you fret none, ma'am!" he said, turning to the lady. "I'll have that kitty down in a jiffy!"

He made his way up the tree, and grabbed the little kitten, carefully lifting her off of the branch.

"There you go little kitty," he crooned, giving her a gentle pat on the head.

The kitten purred happily and nuzzled Huck against his cheek as he climbed back down the tree and handed her back to the lady.

"Here you are, ma'am! She's safe and sound!"

"Thank you Huckleberry!" the woman smiled. "I swear, Princess Fluffy is always getting herself into mischief."

"Aw, she'll grow out of it, ma'am. It's all part of growin' up."

"Yes, I suppose you're right."

Huck soon made his way into town and continued to sing and whistle "Clementine" as he came to the candy store.

"I think I'll drop in for a little something sweet, as usual," he chuckled to himself.

But just as he was about to enter the store, he heard the sound of crying. A little boy had tripped over his untied shoelaces and fallen down on the sidewalk, hurting his knee. He was sitting there holding his leg with tears pouring out of his eyes.

"Are you okay?" Huck asked, looking down at the boy with a concerned expression on his face.

"I think I skinned my knee!" the boy sobbed. "It really hurts!"

"Aww, it's okay son," Huck said gently. "Here, I know! I'll buy you a lollipop while I'm inside. Would you like that?"

"Sure!" the boy cried, a smile coming to his face. "That sounds swell!"

"Alrighty then! I'll be right back!"

So Huck bought a nice big swirled lollipop for the boy while he bought his usual daily helping of candy, and gave it to him the moment he came back outside.

"Thanks, Mr. Huckleberry Hound!" the boy said. "You're the greatest!"

"Anytime!" Huck beamed.

He soon made his way to the park and munched on his candy, which today consisted of some chocolate bars, jelly beans and lemon drops. It sure felt good to help other people around town when he wasn't filming new shows at the studio. Everyone seemed to really appreciate his help.
