The Tales of Huckleberry Hound: Season 2

23. Moving Day

One morning, Mr. Jinks sat on a bench in the park, enjoying the sunshine, when he heard a loud POP!

"Yikes!" he shouted. "What the heck was that?"

He turned to see that Boo-Boo Bear was sitting right next to him, chewing bubble gum. "Boo-Boo," Jinks groaned. "Don't chew your gum too loud. I'm trying to spend a nice day in peace."

"Sorry," Boo-Boo replied. "I was just blowing some bubbles."

"Bubbles?" Jinks thought to himself. He then had a great idea. "Hey, like uh...could I have some of that bubble gum too? I wanna try that!"

"Uh, sure!" Boo-Boo said. He gave Jinks another piece of bubble gum that he pulled out of a bag of candy he had with him.

Jinks put the gum in his mouth and began chewing it up until it was nice and soft, then he started to try blowing a bubble.

"Ooh, like this is tricky!"

"You know how to curl your tongue?" Boo-Boo asked.

"Yeah! I'm trying to do that."

Jinks soon managed to blow a small bubble, then he started puffing more and more air into it. He giggled and tried to blow it into Boo-Boo's face, but it popped and the gum ended up all over his own face! That's when they both heard a familiar laugh from somewhere nearby.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

It was none other than Huckleberry Hound! "Golly, that was hilarious!!" he chortled.

"Ugh, like very funny!" Jinks grumbled as he tried to pull the sticky gum off of his face.

"Hey Huck!" Boo-Boo called. "Want a piece of gum?"

"No thanks. I don't chew bubble gum. That is, unless it's an emergency."

"Oh, okay. I'm getting thirsty. Wanna head for the malt shop?"

"Is that a trick question?" Huck joked. He laughed and nodded as he and his friends headed in that direction.

When they got there, they ordered three milkshakes: strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. After they got their shakes, they met up with Pixie, Dixie, and Yogi Bear, who were sitting at a table with their milkshakes. They were soon talking about some really funny things that happened to them recently. Jinks had the funniest one of them all though.

"So I was like, walking down the street when I saw a sale on goldfish at the pet store. So I went inside, but as soon as I went through the door, I slipped on a banana peel that someone left on the ground! I ended up landing into one of the fishbowls, and next thing you know, I got my head stuck in the bowl!"

His story made everyone laugh, but naturally, it made Huck laugh the hardest.

"HAHAHAHAHA!!" he chortled. "That's gotta be one of the funniest things I've ever heard, Jinks! I can just see it clearly!"

But Yogi's smile soon turned into a frown as he sighed sadly.

"What's wrong, Yogi?" Huck asked.

"Well, it's because... Boo-Boo, you know what tomorrow is, do you?"

"Oh yeah...I remember now." Boo-Boo sniffled a bit as a single tear fell from his eye.

"I don't understand!" Pixie cried. "What's going on?"

"Well, I have some good news, and some bad news," Yogi explained. "The good news is that me and Boo-Boo have proven to be so popular, that Mr. Hanna and Mr. Barbera decided that they're giving me my own show!"

"Gosh! That's wonderful!" Huck shouted.

"Wow!!" Pixie and Dixie cried.

"Like, uh, congrats, Yogi!" Jinks beamed.
