One morning, Huckleberry Hound was walking through Hill Street Neighborhood, when he saw a little summer hat with a ribbon flying in the air.
"Someone, catch it!!!" a voice called out.
Huck turned around as the hat flew towards him. He then jumped up and grabbed it in his paws.
"Got it!!" he cried.
Running up to him was a little girl with brown hair tied up in pigtails. She was wearing a blue dress with short puffy sleeves and cute little dress shoes. "That's my hat!" she cried.
"Oh, I guess it's a good thing I caught it!" Huck chuckled as he handed it back to her. "Here you go, sweetie."
"Thank you!" the girl beamed as she placed her hat back on her head. "Hey...you're Huckleberry Hound!!"
"Yep, that's me!"
"I'm a big fan of yours, Huckleberry!" the girl cried. "I tune into your show every day!!"
"Glad to hear!"
"Debbie," a voice called. "Where did you go, honey?"
"Over here, Mommy!" the girl replied back.
Coming down the block was a young woman with loose blonde hair, a short sleeved green dress and white buckled shoes.
"Debbie, are you okay?" she asked.
"Yes, Mommy, I'm fine. Mr. Huckleberry caught my hat before it blew away!"
"Huckleberry?" the mother asked. "Huckleberry Hound?"
"The one and only!" the blue dog grinned.
"Why, it's nice to meet you in person," the mother said with a smile. "My daughter is a big fan of your show! And I am too!"
"Shucks, it's nice to meet you too!" Huck blushed. "Where y'all headed for on such a beautiful day?"
"We were just on our way home from the park," Debbie replied. "We just saw an amazing puppet show!"
"A puppet show?" Huck asked. "That sounds like fun!!"
"It sure was! I thought it was really funny!"
Huck started to think. "Hmm, I wonder if I could make a puppet of my own! I sure love puppet shows too!"
"I once made sock puppets," Debbie said. "They're really easy to make."
"Yeah, but I'm talkin' about the kind made out of wood. I reckon maybe I could give it a try!"
"Well, I'd love to see it when it's finished," the mother smiled. "Perhaps you can bring it onto your show for everyone to see."
That gave Huck the perfect idea! A few minutes later, he made his way over to the malt shop where his friends were sitting, drinking some milkshakes.
"Hi, fellers!" he cried. "Guess what! I got an idea for something we can all do together!"
"What is it, Huck?" Dixie asked.
"Well, earlier today, I met a young lady named Debbie who was on her way home from a puppet show. It gave me the idea to make my own puppet out of wood!"
"A puppet!?" Pixie cried. "I wanna make one, too!"
"That sounds like fun!!" Dixie grinned.
"Puppets, huh?" Mr. Jinks asked. "You know I once saw a punch and judy show where puppets bopped each other over the head with sticks! Hehehe!! That sure was funny to watch!"
"I love puppets!!" Boo-Boo shouted. "Don't you, Yogi?"
"Yeah, unless he's named Pinocchio! His nose keeps getting bigger every time he tells a lie! You couldn't believe a word that kid says!" Yogi Bear laughed.
