Huckleberry Hound was walking down the country lane outside of town one morning on his way to pick up some fresh eggs from his good friend Farmer Morgan. Despite his fear of chickens, Huck couldn't say no to some tasty eggs straight from the farm! It was just like the way he and his relatives had used to enjoy eggs during his puppyhood back in North Carolina.

"Oh mah darling, oh mah darling, oh mah darling Clementine..." he sang as he walked along.

Soon he arrived at the front gate of Farmer Morgan's ranch. He always knew he was in the right place when he saw the big blue barn. He had once stopped by to pick up a cute little pig, which he had named Puddles, but now the pig was living in an animal sanctuary in Orange County after Huck had gotten himself in trouble for bringing him home.

"Ohhh, there it is!" he beamed. "I hope Farmer Morgan has plenty of the best eggs today!"

He went over to the front gate and opened it up as he headed to the barn where Farmer Morgan was working. Huck could see him milking one of the cows as he walked in.

"Howdy!" he greeted.

Farmer Morgan stood up and picked up his milk pail. "Well, if it isn't Huckleberry Hound! How are ya'?"

"I'm doin' well!" Huck replied. "I've come for my new supply of eggs!"

"Ah yes...I've got a whole new batch that my hens laid...."

"Baaa!" a tiny voice rang out.

"Oh dear...just a moment, Huck. I'll be right with you. I have a new mouth to feed on my farm."

"Huh?"

Farmer Morgan went over to a small pen where a fluffy little lamb was sitting. She had adorable eyes and her fleece was a pure snowy white. She let out a loud baa again as Farmer Morgan fetched a baby bottle, then knelt down to feed her. The little lamb immediately began gulping down the formula. When Huck went over to take a look at the lamb, his eyes filled with hearts.

"Golly! She's a cutie!" he beamed.

"Yes, one of my prize sheep gave birth to her last week! She needs a lot of attention. I'm afraid her mother isn't giving her enough milk, according to what the veterinarian told me. She was malnourished, so I've been having to feed her by bottle."

"Gosh, that's a shame," Huck replied.

The lamb soon looked at Huck and walked over to him. She gave him a baa and bunted her tiny head against his belly. Huck smiled warmly and knelt down, petting her gently on the head.

"Hiya, little gal!" he cooed. He looked back up at Farmer Morgan. "Does she have a name?"

"I actually haven't thought of one just yet," Farmer Morgan admitted. "Perhaps you could help me choose one."

"Sure! I'll think of something while you get the eggs!"

"Alrighty!"

Huck started thinking of a cute name for the lamb as he continued to pet her on the head. He gazed out at the flower fields and pastures nearby, and noticed some lovely little flowers dancing in the spring breeze. Maybe he should name her after a flower! She was born in the springtime after all. He tried to think of a flower with white-colored petals, since the little lamb had the most beautiful white fleece.

"That's it!" he cried, snapping his fingers.

Once Farmer Morgan had returned with the eggs, Huck stood up with a happy grin.

"I've got the perfect name for her!" he said.

"What did you think of?"

"Magnolia!" Huck replied. "They're a pretty white flower that grows down in the South where I came from, and she's a pretty little white lamb born in the springtime!"
