42 - A phone call

"You are a sore loser Cabir Malhotra, admitting it won't hurt now..." Navya smirked and Cabir frowned. Always after each other's neck those two. I smiled looking at them who were bickering playfully over simple game of call of duty. I very well know Cabir is a good gamer and he surely aren't be beaten by Navya. So just to see that smile on her face he loses willingly made me smile a little wider. 

This was the best summer of my life; with all my siblings and friends be having fun together. It couldn't be better. Dhruv and Aliya are so in love that it would be no surprise if after turning 21 they both would tie a knot. Though my parents would not that happy about this, but they wouldn't object either. Best parents in the world I tell you. Cabir and Navya were a different story altogether. They fight too much but, in the end, would still snuggle up to each other. I don't know if it's healthy or not, but I know they are happy and that is enough.

Abhimanyu and Mukti on the other hand were going through the tough time. Whole summer we tried to figure out about his identity but in veil. Mukti has kept her distance from him, and they both have been miserable. We haven't seen Soha and Aryaman whole summer and Harshad is still in juvenile. I came out of the basement giving the couple some needed privacy which I knew they would surely be needing.

Parents were gone out leaving us all at Malhotra Mansion. Aliya and Dhruv were having dinner with Dhruv's parents and Mukti was tucked in her bedroom doing God knows what, I slipped out to terrace. The cold wind blowing my face, though junior year was not the easiest year of my life but apart from few incidents I wouldn't change a thing. I guess what's senior year has stored for me. "Thinking about me?" Two strong arms came hugging my waist pulling me closer. 

A smile tugged at my lips. "Why would I? I have better things to think of..." I teased leaning myself into him, he pulled me closer. "Ouch you wounded me kitten, so there are things better than me now?" He mumbled and I hummed savoring the heat coming from his body. 

He turned me towards him suddenly and take my lips in a slow and agonizing kiss. A moan escaped my mouth. I don't know why I can't get enough of his feverish kisses. Every time it's the same. "Better than this also?" He whispered over my lips while I pulled him closer. Damn you Malhotra and your tricks to make me horny at the wrong times.

Manik and I were going well and were going strong. After we actually submitted to each other completely and fully on my birthday night. We came a lot closer. I snorted while girls roll their eyes. He is right though we all have been eying the blank TV from past 30 minutes. 

Nandini - Okay let's watch Harry Potter.

Manik - How old are you Nandini five?

Nandini - Yeah, that is still 5 years older to you. 

Manik - Shut up.

Nandini - You shut up.

Aliya - Stop bickering both of you. I think we should watch something romantic.

Dhruv - Yeah, I second that.

Mukti - Dismissed, next option please.

Aliya - What but why?

Mukti - If you want me to cry my heart out at every scene of those movies, go ahead.

Dhruv - Romance out of the box, then go ahead, any other suggestion.

Cabir - Let's watch The Conjuring.

Navya - Nooo, I am scared of Ghost.

Cabir - Seriously, are you forgetting who you are?

We all laughed at that. Ironical A Vampire is scared of a scary movie.

Nandini - Ughhh!! Are we even going to watch something or should I just go to sleep.

Manik - Let's watch Avengers.

And finally, everyone agreed. I put on the first Avenger movie, and we all started watching. I pulled Nandini closer, she made a noise but didn't retreat back. I looked around and nobody was attentive towards us. Good for me. 

Halfway to the movie my Phone started ringing, seeing an unknown number I didn't bother to answer but the person on the other end didn't seem to understand as it keep on ringing.

Cabir - Can you shut that thing up.

Cabir groaned from midst of an important scene. "Pick up maybe it's something important..." Nandini probed and sighing deeply, I finally picked up. The voice I heard from other end was enough to suck the life out of me. 

"Manik, is everything okay? Who is it Manik?" I could hear Nandini asking questions worriedly, but I couldn't bother to answer. "I have to go..." I looked at her who was confused at my sudden behavior and so was others. "I am sorry guys, but I have to leave..." I took off from there, this phone call was going to change all our lives.
