Tired, you let out a deep sigh, stretched your hands above your head and rolled onto your back.
Warm light fell through the artistically broken stained glass windows and kissed your (S/C) skin.
Soft pillows hugged your body.
Next to you, a deep chuckle sounded.
"Finally awake, mi sol?", a scratchy voice asked.
Not a moment later the rough stubbles of a beard scratched your exposed shoulder only to be brushed away by the soft touch of lips that breathed a kiss on your skin.
A forehead rubbed against your cheek.
Chuckling softly, you wrapped your arms around your man's neck and pulled him against your chest.
He chuckled, wrapped his arms around your torso and allowed you to play fight with him for a moment before he turned to his back and pulled you on top.
With a sigh, you snuggled against his muscular chest. The beating of his heart echoed inside your ear, mixed with his calm breath.
"Good morning, oso gruñón.", you smiled. "Already awake?"
Your hand rose to run through the short black sides of his hair, all the way up to where the strands got longer and curled at the edges.
A deep hum made his chest vibrate.
With his eyes closed, he took a deep breath and exhaled again.
"Couldn't sleep.", he said soberly.
You glanced up at him.
From the angle you were looking at him, it was hard to admire Alejandro in all his glory. All you could make out was the prominent chin, covered by a thin three-day beard. His lips formed a satisfied smile, his lower lip more visible than the upper.
"You always sleep badly, mi lobo.", you said, tracing his thick eyebrows with one finger. "Maybe you really should start doing something about it. Drinking tea before bed is supposed to help."
A huff escaped him.
"What am I? British?"
The two of you had a laugh.
Still grinning, you popped yourself up on your elbows to have a better look at him.
One of his eyes opened to meet your gaze.
The purest shade of brown collided with your (E/C) shimmer. If there was one piece of earth that was untouched and as secret as none would be able to imagine the soil and tree trunks would have the same shade of brown as his eyes.
Even though you were married to him it still took your breath away every single time.
Frozen by his sight, you couldn't help but just stare with a dorky smile on your face.
Taking a deep breath, he turned his head to lie upright in the pillow and looked at you wordlessly for a moment.
"What has left you speechless, sol de mi vida?", he asked and stroked your cheek as if he feared you might break under his rough fingers.
Rough, that was something that defined who he was quite well. He was a man of curves and edges, in and outside. But you knew like no other that deep down there was something so loyal and loving in him that it was worth baring his harshness once in a while.
Gently you kissed him.
"Alejandro.", you breathed against his lips. "You know I just want you to feel well."
He smiled against your lips.
"Trust me when I say I've never felt better than with you.", his hand slipped into your neck to keep you from running from him. "But I might know a way how I'd feel even better... corazón."
With a chuckle, he pushed you off him back into the sheets and rolled on top to cover your face and neck with kisses.
But he didn't get to the fun part.
As he caught you in another deep kiss, the sound of a door opening filled the room.
The tapping of small feet chased over the floor and before Alejandro even managed to figure out what was going on the bed was filled with little kids.
Laughing and giggling, they threw themselves onto you and Alejandro, tried to wrestle him down. Their little feet kicked in the air.
Huffing, you grabbed one of the small boys and playfully threw him into the pillows to tickle his swollen stomach.
He laughed, kicked into the air.
"That's unfair, I want to be tickled too!", one of the girls protested.
Her chin length black hair was all messy, her face was covered in dirt.
"Niña...", you sighed and tried to wipe the dirt off her as best as possible. "What happened?"
Little Niña blew air into her cheeks to make them all puffy.
"I fell.", she said and pointed at one of the older boys. "Julio pushed me!"
Protesting, Julio gasped.
"I didn't!", he yelled back and pushed another boy, about his age, almost off the large bed. "It was Wesley!"
Wesley shook his head with such force that his thick locks uncurled so far that they smashed Julio into the face.
Annoyed, the boy gave him a slap to the back of his head.
"Easy, hermanos.", Alejandro grabbed the boys to give them a rough but loving ruffle through their hairs. "We don't fight in this house."
Soft sounds caught your attention.
Two little girls, identical down to the smallest birthmark on their dark faces, tried to climb up the bed as well but failed since they were barely old enough to walk.
With a soft chuckle you grabbed them so that they could join.
"Tilly.", you kissed one of the girls foreheads and then the others. "Lilly."
The girls squeaked with amusement.
Now the bed was filled with five little kids, all under the age of ten, fuzzing around and screaming with excitement. All of them were still dressed in their sleepwear.
None of them looked similar to the other, the all had different eyes, different kinds of hair and different shades of skin. They were street kids that you and Alejandro had picked up like strays to give them a chance that El Sin Nombre didn't want them to have.
"Sorry, I tried to keep them in bed.", a boy suddenly appeared behind Alejandro.
He wasn't all that old either, but old enough to have a certain kind of harshness in his dark brown eyes. If any of the kids would have looked similar to one of you, Moro could have been Alejandro's biological son.
"Hijo.", you reached out to offer him a hug.
With a smile he accepted and crawled into bed as well.
