CHAPTER 41

3RD PERSON

Dos and Silas exchange glances now and then. They're contemplating whether to speak with her or let the silence pass.

The tension is palpable.

They have no idea why Red abruptly yanked them out of the suite with her.

Silas looked in the rearview mirror towards the backseat. She then returned her glance to Dos and shrugged.

"Red," Dos called out, but she didn't answer.

Her arms are crossed and her head is lying in the backseat.

"Baka natulog ulit." Silas stated, concentrating on the road.

"I'm awake," Red grumbled, her eyes still closed.

"Well... I just wanted to ask," Dos began to initiate the conversation. "May emergency ba sa bahay niyo?"

"Wala."

Silas and Dos exchange glances once again. Their eyes are conversing with one another. Even a simple gesture and perspective were comprehended by both sides.

"Bakit nagmamadali ka umuwi?"

"Hindi pa nga kami nakakapag-almusal, kinaladkad mo na kami palabas," Dos said, her voice irritated.

Who wouldn't when you're still sleeping peacefully and someone wakes you up and drags you away without explanation?

"Atsaka pre, kung may emergency ka man, okay lang naman samin 'yon. Hahayaan ka naman namin umalis ng maaga pero 'yung pati kami isama mo eh hindi naman tayo iisa ng inuuwian. Hindi mo nga kami tinanong kung gusto na ba namin umuwi," Silas said calmly.

"Sinira mo lang araw ko eh," Dos said it bluntly. "Para kang gago."

Red remained mute and made no response to their concerns. Instead, she opened her eyes and looked around at the surroundings.

After a little lull, Red opened her mouth, causing her friends to tilt their heads toward the back seat where she was seated. Silas nearly swerves the steering wheel she's gripping.

"May nangyari sa'min ni Diamond."

"HA? GAGO?"

"The fuck?!"

Silas pulled over to the side of the road and focused her full attention on Red, who was now distressed at being reminded of what happened.

"Seryoso ka ba?"

"Mukha ba 'kong nagbibiro?" Red eventually stared at the two without taunting.

"Wait---Paano nangyari?"

"Tanginang tanong naman 'yan. Para kang walang experience ah?" Dos cast a strange glance at the driver.

"I mean kasi... paanong may nangyari sa inyo? Magkatabi ba kayo natulog?"

"Puta, Silas, pangalawa na 'yan," Dos is now prepared to hit her. "Mukha bang may mangyayari sa kanila kung hindi sila magkatabi natulog? Tulog ka pa yata eh."

"Gago, hindi lang kasi ako makapaniwala."

"Believe it or not, it happened. Kahit ako ayokong maniwala. Shit," Red cut them off and buried her face in her palms. "Wala pa akong maalala."
