"I can't believe you still want to do this after that." Wally confessed as they sat around their cold mac'n cheese.

She couldn't either, she figured she was still in shock.

"I didn't want to ruin the night. I really shouldn't have said anything, you can take care of yourself." She explained.

He reached his hand over the table to hold hers.

"It's okay, honestly, I found it pretty hot." He mumbled the last bit through his teeth. He wanted to sound smoother than that.

Her mouth fell open and she blinked slowly.
A small laugh escaped.

"Okay, okay, I get it that was stupid." He turned away.

"No! No not stupid. Not a all." She snuffled her laughter with her hand.

"Now this is just embarrassing." He mumbled to himself, rubbing his forehead.

"Just enough for it to be cute." She took a sip out of her water bottle. Trying to ignore what she just said.

Wally looked back with newfound interest.
"Did you just say-?"

"Yes, don't get used to it." She flashed a sickeningly sweet smile.

"You think I'm cute." Wally turned to mush and threw an arm over her shoulder.

"Unfortunately." She joked.

They ditched the cold food, and went on a moonlit walk instead.

"Did you hear? They're adding a punching bag to the weight room. I am so going to learn to box. There's a book about it in the library." Caroline rambled.

Wally hummed and nodded along, he waited for the perfect time to take her hand.

She noticed his uninterested manner, and realized she was rambling. "Sorry." She shut herself up.

"No, no. Keep going." Wally tried to act cool, but he took another glance at their hands.

She saw where his interest was going to. She looked at him and took his hand, and swung it along as they continued down the pavement.

"You read my mind." He chippered.

They continued, trailing off to wherever their minds could take them.
Traveling came up.

"I just wish I got to get on a plane before I died." Wally commented.

"Same, just once to say I did it. You know?" She agreed.

There was a flash of melancholy in his eyes. He shook it off quickly.

"You know, you could if you wanted." He pointed out.

If she could leave the school, what's stopping her from hopping on a plane? Or from seeing the world.

"Technically. But I won't." She squeezed his hand.

"Why not?" He leaned down with interest.

"Cause, I couldn't take you guys with me. I mean maybe if I ran off the second I died. But even then I would've stayed with my dad." She told him. "Probably getting stuck in a loop."
