I've just been wanting to write short funny filler chapters rn and I'm living laughing and loving for it.
Caroline was partially unscrewing some cabinet doors in the teacher's lounge so when they were used they'd fall off. When her screwdriver broke. She groaned. Realizing she'd have to get another from a storage closet.
The small frustration bubbled inside of her, and she felt that energy she felt a couple days before. She had a moment of genius, at least she thought so.
She put her hand up toward the screws and hovered it about an inch away from them. She focused hard, closing her eyes. She felt the top of one of the screws hit the tip of her finger after it gently unscrewed toward her.
The door opened and she turned to see, moving her hand. The screw flew across the room, straight between Wally's eyes.
"Ow! Caroline what the hell!" He held his head.
"Ohhhh! Sorry!" She cringed. That must've hurt.
"I just heard your moms gonna be at the school tomorrow, just wanted to check in." He blinked a few times, instinctively checking to see if he was bleeding. Obviously he was not.
"Uh... I'm fine I guess." She said as she heard more screws coming out of the hinges. She threw her hand over them to keep them in place. "You know it's gonna be weird and... stuff."
"What are you doing?" He asked with a raised brow.
"Nothing!" She moved her hand and shut the cabinet door. She heard Ping! Ping! Ping! As the screws bounced around the cabinet and the door fell off. The screws rolled off onto the floor and hit Wally's shoes. She moved the back of tools behind her.
"I'm just gonna tell everyone you're fine." He sighed.
"Good call."
