Later on…
Cole found himself lying in bed with worry, his husband was asleep beside him. Zane had come into the room earlier looking sick, he said his head was hurting and then had crashed on the bed. Cole had instantly called Skylor who checked him over only to find exhaustion to be the case. Cole had thanked her for the late night call and got ready for bed. His husband was acting mysterious and it was becoming quite concerning. He could only sigh, wrapping his arms around his sleeping soulmate hoping to god it wasn't something to worry about. He knew Zane would tell him eventually, hopefully another argument wouldn't be the cause of the explanation.
Once he heard Coles snores and was sure Cole was firmly asleep. Zane managed to escape Cole's hold on him, he wrote a small note on the side of the bed table before grabbing his coat and walking out the door. With careful and silent footsteps, Zane managed to sneak out of the palace unaware that someone was watching. Jay frowned, wondering where the storm king was going, instead he made his way into the earth king's bedroom. From the security room where the cameras had been fitted out of Cole's wishes and Morro's insistence.
"Cole…Cole…Cole!" Jay's whispers gradually got louder, snapping the earth king out of his sleep.
"What is it, Jay?" Cole mumbled, tightening his grip on what he thought was Zane only for it to be the blanket.
"Zane left the palace"
Those four words had Cole's eyes open, he jumped up with worry.
"And he was heading for the mystic caves"
"Why didn't you stop him!" Cole called out, grabbing his clothes.
"Because last I checked I was his brother not his mother and he looked upset, the last thing I wanted to do was help not after he froze me last time!" Jay shivered remembering when he made the storm king angry after being caught crying.
Cole could only sigh, he wasn't too worried until he saw the note. His anxiety rose reading the words.
"Dear Cole,
I will not be there when you wake up. I have decided to take a walk and will be back soon. I don't know when but I need some thinking time. I have discovered something about myself that will impact both our lives and quite frankly I don't want to put you through any more pain so I've decided to find a way out…
Cole didn't even read the rest as he grabbed his things. Jay grabbed the note knowing the idiot hadn't finished reading it. The two sprinted out the door startling Morro and Cryptor who were shortly informed of the missing storm king.
"What's going on?"
"Zane's missing"
"What?!"
"Yes and he is going to find a way out and…"
"He's what! We have to find him!"
Jay couldn't even grab Kai before the three took off with their wings. Jay frowned reading the rest of the note.
“It’s nothing to worry about love but understand this, I’m not leaving you. I just need to reconnect with my angel to find out our options. I love you Rocky, I will see you in the morning love - Zane”
Shaking his head, Jay went to find Kai knowing his brother would be awake or at least snoozing with the noise going around. He was just about to knock when Kai appeared with Lloyd and Nya flanking him.
“Please tell me, Cole read the whole note?” Kai questioned, Jay shook his head, “Dammit Cole, fine Jay, Lloyd. Go down to the mystic caves. Nya with me” Kai ordered, passing his sister's coat.
