(Warning: Torture scene near the end, mention of blood)
Back in the Earth Palace…
He couldn't believe it, within a minute his whole life had collapsed around him. At least the kids were safe but what did that mean for the future? With a sigh Cole looked down at the chamber which was basically a glass coffin holding his husband who lay too still for Cole's liking. It had been four months since Zane had 'died', Kane hadn't returned and it was worrying them all. What was even worse, Casey couldn't access hell so she relied on Neuro to keep her grounded. The siren side of the master of mind was useful but the last thing Casey wanted to do was drain Neuro who insisted he was fine.
Shade on the other hand had his own opinions which Neuro made sure he kept to himself as Ash watched his girlfriend rely on his dad to even maintain her human side. The lack of Kane was clearly affecting her and Casey couldn't help but let out a cry of pain now and then. Thankfully, Garmadon was the second pillar who could help her with him still having evil within his blood. The great devour never really left him so he could help Casey not that the girl trusted him but he would step in when Neuro couldn't.
For the last four months, the ninja and their friends had been on the search for the individual who had caused this rift in their home as the Storm Realm slowly broke around them. Neuro had been down to the Creta Kingdom twice to sort out a problem using his siren side and had returned both times looking miserable. It took Shade quite a while to work out what was wrong and when he learned he was in shock. The old volcanoes were opening in the sea causing mayhem. Neuro had been called to deal with it only to come back with a burn on his back. Shade tried to heal it but it only scarred over.
The fire kingdom was evacuated since their own volcano had blown high sky and thankfully no one was in the kingdom as lava now roamed the streets. Kai was struggling to maintain his powers which threatened to explode any day now. Without his opposite, the balance in the realm was broken which meant the ice and snow was melting causing mayhem. The seas were rising with the volcanos and chunks of ice now turned into water. Every storm cloud seemed to get bigger as the nights grew darker. Morro frowned when the wind wouldn't respond to him but he wasn't the only one. The elements weren't responding to many of them.
Out of everyone's safety, Morro commanded them all to move into the Earth Palace and only to go out only if it was absolutely necessary. The master of wind took command since Cole couldn't and Zane wasn't available. All of them listened to Morro, even the citizens who remained within the earth kingdom walls. The Creta Kingdom was off limits as the ocean just wouldn't settle, even expert swimmers such as Neuro and Nya struggled to swim in it. One wrong move and they would be caught in a riptide. Shade always worried and timed his partner when he said he was on his way to the surface so the master of shadows could meet him.
"Anyone bored?" Jay asked, coming into the earth palace lounge where most of the residents lived, "Jay, if I hear them words one more time. I will ask Neuro to personally drown you" Kai threatened although it was an empty threat, the lightning master only nodded.
"How's Skylor?" Jay asked changing the topic all together as he took a seat beside Nya. The master of water had only eyes for Cole who was sleeping on the sofa in the corner with CJ in his arms. Dawn was with the triplets in the next room, it was sad to see but Cole just couldn't look at Dawn without him seeing Zane. She was his splitting double and it was soul destroying for the earth king. Dawn cried out for her father and yet Cole never responded instead Lloyd had taken to looking after the youngest. No matter what Dawn tried to seek her father's attention but it never happened.
"Skylors good. Five months pregnant and she is acting like nothings wrong while giving Morro heart attacks" Kai answered, while looking across the room to where his wife was playing with Sapphire and Blake. "How so?" Jay asked, "She was helping me paint the hallway the other day for Cole and she hadn't even stepped on the ladder when Morro went into a full on speech. So Skylor being Skylor climbed the ladder and started painting, ignoring him which only made him more protective as he stood ready to catch her. I just laughed with Cryptor" Kai explained, catching Skylors eye.
