A Home Lost To Fire and Ice (Cole x Zane) - Book 2 - Complete!

Chapter 1

The letter was still on his mind as it was on the others but today was a day to forget about it and celebrate a special someone’s big birthday. The youngest of the ninja was turning 18 which in all honesty wasn’t a big deal to the birthday boy but to the others especially the other ninja it was. The plan was Lloyd would spend the morning with the ninja in Ninjago, to see Sensei Wu, Misako, Garmadon as well as any others while those in the Storm Realm prepared which included a certain angel who was currently sleeping the morning away. 

A chuckle of happy laughter filled the silent room alerting the angel to his partner, “Zane, you need to get up” the baritone voice of none other than his partner reached his ears. “I don’t want to” Zane grumbled, “I’m comfy”. Cole only smiled moving to pull his partner into his arms, Zane only mumbled something allowing Cole to help him to his feet. Zane shivered, granting Cole to look at him in concern. 

“You alright?” Cole asked moving the two of them under the shower head, Zane only nodded cuddling closer to the earth king's chest. Lifting a hand, Cole pressed it to his husband's forehead only to frown at the heat coming from his partner's skin, “Zane?”. “I’m alright, just feel a little nauseous with my powers slowly coming back” Zane mumbled back accepting Cole’s hand and then the towel. Cole leaned down to kiss him when banging on their bedroom door disturbed the two of them. The two groaned in sync. Quickly Cole threw his shorts and top on and answered the door only to be met with a pale white Morro, the master of wind looked furious and scared at the same time. 

“Morro?” Cole asked in uncertainty. 

“Where’s Zane?” Morro asked, pushing past his startled son-in-law. Cole didn’t take an offence to it as he looked down the corridor to see Cryptor shaking his head heading back into his own room. Cole grimaced, closing the door only to turn around to see Morro waiting on his son. To hurry it along Cole walked into the bathroom to help Zane get ready and get himself ready, not even five minutes later. Morro was speaking to the two of them while holding Zane close to his chest. 

“Dad, what is it?” Zane asked, reaching for Cole who pressed closer to his side. 

“I need the two of you to listen closely and if anything feels off today. I want you to let me know or just leave. Do you understand me?” Morro sternly said letting Zane go so Cole could hold him in his lap, the two kings nodded wondering what on earth was going on?

Morro took a deep breath, “I don’t know if you have heard or noticed anything wrong with your powers Zane” His son only nodded, “Okay, for the rest of the day I want you to refrain from using them please” Zane only tilted his head pressing closer to Cole’s chest, the earth king was worried. “What’s going on, Morro?” Cole pushed the question while rubbing circles into Zane’s hand to not only calm his partner but him as well. 

“An Eclipse is coming. It is set to happen tonight and with Zane being a celestial moon angel. There is something different in the storm realm, the ice is the moon while the sun is fire. So I have advised Kai to not use his own powers as I believe if either of you did, it would cause mayhem to the two of you. I’m gathering you are not feeling the best as well?” Morro directed his question at his son through his explanation. Zane shook his head, “Nausea and headaches” “Don’t forget shivers” Cole interrupted. Zane glared at him which only mirrored Cole’s own. 

Morro nodded, “I've made bracelets so the kids don't use ice especially Arlo but you need to be careful. I know you hate it but if anyone attacks or threatens you, let Cole deal with it” Morro insisted. Zane could only nod accepting the medicine drink from his dad, Morro smirked thanking the two and basically leaping from the room promising he would watch the kids all day knowing the kings were busy.
