1 September: Platform 9¾
"Are you upset with me??" Harry asked quietly, barely audible above the train's whistle for the last call and students saying goodbye to their parents.
"Of course not, why would you think that??" James asked, worried, what gave his son the impression that he was upset with him.
"You went home without meeting me." He is talking about the night he met Professor Slughorn. The marauders went home when Molly was done lecturing them and didn't wait to meet Harry. "I thought you were mad at me because I didn't ask your permission before going with Professor Dumbledore."
James chuckled, this is a silly thing to be mad at when Harry's not even at fault. "Harry, you don't need my permission for these little things. And I am not mad; I was just worried, that's all.
Harry smiled and hugged him.
"Now, enjoy your sixth year, study hard for your NEWTs, find yourself a girlfriend, and get lots of detention."
"I will try." Harry laughed.
"Hop on then. Have a great year." Sirius said, who just finished explaining to a parent that he is no longer a 'death eater', and that they should start reading newspapers.
They said their goodbyes, and Harry got on the train. Ron, Hermione, and Ginny were already inside as Harry waited behind for a few more moments with his father.
As he got into their usual compartment, he saw Ron sitting near the window and Molly on the other side saying something about rules and safety.
Harry took a seat next to Hermione, who was already engaged in a book. He then turned back to Molly, and in the background he saw Severus and Amy smiling and laughing.
"What is he doing here??"
Hermione didn't need to look up from her book, by the disdain in his tone, she knew who he was talking about. "Came to see Amy. They Haven't met in two months they missed each other."
"And did he say why he went A.W.O.L. for two months??"
"That doesn't concern us, Harry. Let the adults handle it."
Harry huffed at her lack of interest in this, so, he changed the topic. "Fred isn't here to say goodbye??" He asked.
"He had work."
"Alright then, look after each other and stay safe." Molly smiled at the three of them as the train started to move.
After some time, they were joined by Neville, Ginny, and Luna and they engaged in a cheerful conversation about the upcoming year.
Neville is happy to know that Josette will be back this year. He didn't take her classes in third and fourth year as it was optional, and he isn't really that good at spells, but after the DA, he is more confident in himself and wants to learn more advanced spells. He needs to be ready for this war, and he will.
