Chapter 18: Makin' a Way

Andrea walked into the room and sat at her desk and opened the book, all without saying a word to Jay. He walked over to her and said "It didn't go well did it?" and she said, "She said she wouldn't help us but she did give us the pages back and told me she wanted no part and that Carlos couldn't help us either". Jay smiled and said "It's just like old times again huh? and she kissed his cheek and said "Yep". He pulled up a chair and together, they spent the rest of that evening reading the book together and holding hands, undisturbed. 

Jay stopped and headed downstairs around 10 pm for something to eat and ran into Julie who was watching tv. She smiled and said, "There are two plates in the fridge for you guys...how is she though?". Jay giggled and said, "She's probably slumped over the book right now...we've been studying all day and I am very confident that we can begin practice tomorrow...but it won't be here". Julie frowned and said "Oh" and Jay hugged her and said, "Relax Mrs. Mendoza, I'm not going to let anything happen to your daughter and if it does I promise you she'll be returned right back here safe and sound". Julie pulled away and said, "You better or you'll answer to me next time I see you".

Jay warmed up the plates and brought them back upstairs where Andrea was slumped over her desk sleep. He gently shook her awake and sat the plate in front of her and said "Eat before you sleep, we're gonna need all our energy tomorrow". The next morning, Andrea and Jay called the entire family downstairs and sat them at the table. After everyone was seated, Andrea stood up and said "Today, me and Jay are going to attempt to travel to the future and either save Victoria or kill her...that means we won't be here for a bit and I know you're going to worry but we have to do this". 

Andrea looked at her mother who had tears in her eyes and said "Goodbyes are forever and I will see you again...with my daughter in the proper timeline, so I will not say goodbye but rather see you later...I know you want to go with me but this is my baby girl and I've got to save her...besides this might turn ugly and I don't know what id do if I lost any of you". Joanna stood up and said "as a mother, your children always come first so go do what you need to and we'll be waiting right here for your return whether it be years, day or months, I know that you'll be back and your mother knows". Joanna looked at Jay and said, "take good care of her...she strong but tends to overdo it sometimes". 

He nodded and said "Yes ma'am" as Julie walked over to her daughter and hugged her tight and whispered be safe sweetie". As they headed out the door, Aula smiled at the couple and said "Good luck my children...just come back soon. They nodded and walked outside and started walking for the old fields that Victoria and Carlos landed in when they first arrived. After walking into the middle of the field, Jay smiled and said ready? and Andrea pulled him into a deep passionate kiss before pulling away with a smile and saying "Ready".

Jay said, "Alright, close your eyes, focus on the darkness out there...draw it in". Andrea nodded as a third eye appeared on her forehead and her skin cracked just a bit. He smiled and said, "You're doing good, now hold it steady and focus it into a beam and I'll create the portal". she did as instructed and Jay's third eye appeared and he focused on cleansing the energy and creating a portal and they kept tabs on each other via telepathy. He said, "Alright now increase the amount of chaos your channeling to as much as your body can handle". Andrea was scared but after seeing flashbacks of Victoria's face she nodded and increased the energy as much as she could.

This in turn caused her skin to turn black and she began to tense up at the pain it was causing her. Meanwhile, Jay had just opened the portal and was choosing coordinates, he said" hold it just a second longer sweetie, I've almost got it", when "Boom" the circuit destabilized and threw both of them through the time stream to a destination they weren't sure of since jay didn't properly pinpoint a time period. When they both awoke, they found themselves laying in the bed somewhere...they were too weak to move but despite that, Jay hauled himself to his feet and over to the door. When he opened it there was another woman standing there...she was younger and looked a lot like Victoria and he impulsively said "Victoria is that you" and she smiled and said, "Yes now rest". Jay smiled before passing out in her arms.
