"What have you done to Yujin, Jihoon?" Mrs Park shouted. Jihoon almost jumped hearing his mom's shouting. Mrs Park walked into Jihoon's bedroom.
"What?" Jihoon asked. He blinked a few times to think of what he had actually done to Yujin. But he remembered nothing. "I did nothing,"
"Then? Why did Somin call me, apologize that we have to call off the marriage?" Mrs Park asked.
"Ah. About that. Yujin told me herself that she doesn't think that she can do it. She doesn't really want to get married in the first place. She just agreed because it seems to be the only way to live separately from her parents. She just got promoted and she loves her career so much. She discussed it with me first before she decided to tell her mom about it," Jihoon explained. "And I did nothing, okay? You can ask Aunt Somin herself. She'll definitely tell the same thing that I just told you,"
"What? Why so sudden?"
"Probably we're not fated to be together in a marriage," Jihoon said.
"What are you doing?" Mrs Park asked after she realized that Jihoon had been packing his books.
"Me? I'm going to sell this," Jihoon said.
"What?! Why?! You always said that you won't get rid of it and why now?" Mrs Park asked.
"I don't know. I don't really have a passion for anything now. I feel like there's no point I'm keeping these if I have no more interest in them. I'll give them to someone who enjoyed it more than I am now," Jihoon said.
"Are you alright, son?" Mrs Park asked.
"I'm fine. Why are you asking?"
"No. You just. Doesn't look really fine," Mrs Park said.
"You have always told me that these are just a phase. And I'll outgrow it someday. Maybe this will happen someday. I wonder if I have any interest in anything nowadays. I just don't feel like doing anything," Jihoon said. "Maybe I have become an actual adult now. I might need to find a new place to stay too. If it's too hard, I'll just move here and find a job here. You'll be happy if I do so, right?"
"Is everything alright with your housemate?" Mrs Park asked.
"No. We have a little argument," Jihoon said. "But it's not a major one. I feel like I really need to find a new place anyway. He probably will get married to his ex-girlfriend because it seems like she got pregnant. He even rushed to London after he got a phone call from her. If one day he marries her, he probably needs that apartment on his own. To live with his new small family. Or if not, he might need to fly back to London and the rent for that apartment is a little too high if it's me alone who needs to pay for it. So, I really need to move out,"
"Did you hear it from Hyunsuk himself?" Mrs Park asked.
"No. But everything seems like it's going in that direction," Jihoon said. "He told me to live a normal and happy life. That I deserved a better life with a beautiful wife like Yujin. But seems like it's a little impossible to make it happen now,"
"Who?"
"Hyunsuk," Jihoon said. "I've told you that he took care of me very well, right? He even thinks about my future even though he has his own things to worry about. But I couldn't do the same to him. I feel like I don't want to think about his future. Well. He's more than capable enough to do well on anything so, I don't really have to worry. He probably didn't worry about his own future because he knows that he has no problem with it. The problem now is me,"
Suddenly his phone rings.
"I'm going to make lunch," Mrs Park said before she walked out from her son's room. Jihoon nodded. He then looked at his phone. He didn't recognize the number but he's going to answer it anyway.
