A sixth-year Hufflepuff student named Y/N was well-known for her dedication, hard work, and loyalty. Her auburn hair and sparkling green eyes caught the attention of many, including Hermione Granger, who was two years younger and took the school by storm with her intelligence and wit.

The fateful encounter between Y/N and Hermione occurred one magical afternoon. Fred and George Weasley, always keen on bringing people together, decided to introduce Y/N to the young Gryffindor prodigy. Little did they know that Hermione had been secretly harbouring feelings for Y/N since she first laid eyes on her.

As Y/N and Hermione exchanged polite greetings in the Great Hall, their conversation blossomed into an intriguing exchange about their passion for learning and defending justice in the wizarding world. Unknown to both parties was the growing flame that ignited within their hearts, fueled by feelings neither dared to acknowledge openly.

Time flew during Y/N's sixth year at Hogwarts. Hermione struggled with the weight of her secret crush on Y/N while dealing with the challenges of her fourth year at the school. Then, one fateful day, under an enchanted winter sky filled with snowflakes, Hermione mustered up all her courage and confessed her feelings to Y/N.

Unfortunately, much to Hermione's dismay, Y/N gently but firmly rejected the confession. This response shattered both their hearts into a million pieces, as they were left with unresolved emotions brewing beneath the surface. For the agonising year that followed this devastating event, they avoided each other like the plague.

But fate had other plans for them, as the ever-loyal Harry Potter took a liking to Y/N during his fifth year at Hogwarts. One day, he invited both Hermione and Y/N for afternoon tea at Hagrid's. The tension between them held strong until Harry mischievously admitted to orchestrating the meeting to help them reconcile.

Anger bubbled in Hermione's chest, but it quickly transformed into a fierce determination not to let Y/N slip away from her once again. Driven by her resolute devotion, she marched right up to Y/N, grabbed her face with trembling hands, and pressed her lips onto Y/N's in a passionate kiss that caught them both off guard.

"Really? In front of our tea?" Harry asked as they watched the two kiss in front of them.

"Argh." Hermione pulled Y/N away from Hagrid; Y/N didn't know where they were going, and she just let Hermione pull her wherever she wanted to go. They arrive at the shore of the black lake. Granger went under the old oak tree. Y/N hesitantly approached Hermione, standing under the old oak tree that they both adored during their previous years at Hogwarts. Taking a deep breath, she initiated the conversation between them.

"Hermione, I know it's been a while since we've talked, and I just want to say... I'm sorry for everything that happened." Y/N said

"Y/N... not a day goes by where I don't think about what happened between us. But after what we've been through, it's hard for me not to question if it was real or not." The girl quietly said this as she looked down, not looking at the older girl.

The Hufflepuff sighed and nodded. "I understand completely. But my feelings for you have never truly diminished. I rejected you because I was afraid. Afraid of what others would say and of how our friendship might change if things didn't go as planned,"

"You're right. We were both quite young back then, and it certainly would've made things difficult for us. But now we're older and more mature, and I hope that helps dissipate whatever fears we had before." Hermione stated that she is now looking at the girl with courage. She approached the girl.

"Hearing you say that fills me with a reassurance that was missing in our past conversations." Y/N smiled upon hearing her statements.

Y/N saw how the brunette blushed as she turned away. "Good. You know how strong my feelings are for you. I can't help but feel hurt every time Harry speaks highly of you. It makes me wonder... why did you want him?"

Y/N was shocked by what she said. The girl didn't think of Harry as more than a friend. He was like a little brother to her. "Hermione! That's not true at all! Yes, Harry is a great friend, but my heart has always belonged to someone else—someone who made me feel so alive with just her presence. It's always been you!" Hermione was touched by Y/N's words and walked closer to her as their eyes locked.

She couldn't take it anymore, so she hugged the girl tightly. "I'm so sorry for having given you the wrong impression, Hermione; I never wanted to hurt you."

"I had hoped all these years that it was just a misunderstanding, but after what happened between us, I wasn't sure how to react or what to say."

"Can we start anew? Be honest about our feelings and let them guide the way."

"Yes, Y/N, I'd like that very much." Granger softly smiled at the thought of a new beginning with Y/N. With their hands entwined and hearts racing, the two girls looked into each other's eyes and whispered:

"It's always been you, love."

The world around them seemed to vanish as Y and N finally surrendered to the unyielding love that had been growing like ivy within their hearts. Through this impulsive yet endearing act of bravery, they found themselves lost in each other's eyes, ready to explore the depths of their true feelings for one another. And so began the enchanting tale of Y/N and Hermione Granger, bound together by the threads of destiny that no magical force could ever break.
