anyways after completing my first rounds and triple-checking the locks and security measures I went back to the security office. turns out being security is mostly sitting down and looking at monitors which is kind of boring. every 15 minutes I would click through the camera feed to make sure everything was good.
after I came back from getting a snack from the vending machine in the break room. I was clicking through the security feed to see if I missed anything. Nothing was really stepping out until I got to The hallway where the entrance to the 3rd-floor stairwell was. it was almost like someone smudged the camera. then there was a glow that came from the door. the glow grew brighter and as I squinted to see what was causing the light it suddenly went black.
momentarily stunned by the sudden light that was blinding me and blinking out I thought I saw a figure. then as my eyes adjusted I realized there was a figure. but not just any figure. it was the girl from the dream staring straight up at the camera. almost as though she was looking through the camera straight at me.
I jumped up from my seat and ran out the door to the hallway. was she actually there or is this just my mind playing some kind of trick? As I reached the door I slammed it open and she wasn't there. the light was gone and it was just the hallway looking like it did before the smudge on the camera.
I walked over and sure enough, the camera was clear there was nothing there. I figured I was right. my mind was messing with me. must be some kind of residual dream thing.
as I turned to walk back there she was looking like the girl from the ring. her hair was covering her face and her head was looking down at the ground.
"hello," I stammered. "you're the one that told me to come here."
she just stared at the ground acting like she didn't hear me. she then slowly walked toward me. except she wasn't walking. she was hovering I realized. then she sped up and I let out a yelp as I thought she was going to run into me. I felt a feeling of electricity run through me then it exited from the back of me.
I wiped around and saw her put her hand on the door and it turned into a watery film. almost as though you were looking at the lake's surface and just dropped a pebble in it causing a ripple to break the solid look of the water.
she turned and waved me on. almost as if I wasn't in control of my actions again I start to follow. I almost resisted but decided it was pointless. this had to be a dream or some sort of hallucination. maybe I drank too many energy drinks. but either way, this couldn't just happen the solid door would not turn into that. so I followed. Like a stairwell in any hotel or building with stairs I stepped into a concrete stairwell that echoed off the walls.
"so like are you in my head or am I just making this up?" I asked
Not getting any response I yelled, "Hello I'm asking you a question."
"shhhhhh" she snapped
"Finally she speaks," I responded with a bit of a smile.
"do you want to be found out," she asked annoyed
"it's not like it matters. you're in my head. I am making you up. you're not real." I say realizing I might not be imagining things
"Are you really that thick?" she snaps
"you really think you can just randomly make up a girl and make up a prophecy while seeing people die, and it's actually real?"
well, looks like I'm just filled up with embarrassing moments. I turned away blushing and annoyed with myself for pissing off something that I was starting to think was sentient.
