chapter 29: rude awakening

"Stop it. stop it, Daddy." I laughed and let out a little scream as dad popped his head out from the doorway.
He stepped out and made a weird screeching Noise of his own.

"The Taraickle Rex is coming for you." He then bounced back and forth. I just laughed. When he got up to me, he reached down and started to tickle me and took me into his arms.

*Knock* *knock* *knock*

"Shit shit shit. There too early. They were supposed to come to the house after I dropped Hannah off at daycare, "  mom ranted, storming into the room.

Looking up at dad, his face read sadness.

"Daddy wats Wong?" I asked.

"Nothing, honey. Let's get you to your room." Dad said quickly, picking me up.

As dad took me to my room, mom stiffened up and wiped off the front of her bright yellow blows. She looked so pretty and put together. Looking back now, I realized just how wrong the situation was. Mom opened the door and stepped back, waving the guests in.

"Shade always lovely to see you and the courageous leader, Mister Darius."

"Where is he?" the first man aggressive and fierce demanded.

The second man put his arm over the first man and said "Show her some respect shade. You act so aggressive."

Mom recovered quickly and said, " He will be right back. He's just putting our daughter in her room."

at the mention of me, Darious perked up. "Daughter you say?"

causously she spoke up starring at shade with aprehention. 

"yes her names hannah."

"has she meet my son?"

"I'm sure she has." mom said quickly like she does when she doesn't want to continue a conversation. then the door shut and I was in my room. 

"daddy why did mommy say a bad word?" I asked.

"mommy was surprised that's all. now I need you to be a big girl and stay in your room."

"but daddy barneys on." I pouted.

"sweetie please listen to me." dad said in his stern voice.

i raised my legs to my chest and started to cry.

"sweetie please stop crying."

through sobs I said 

"but I want barney."

*knock* *knock* *knock*. Then Mom popped her head in, gave me a stern look, and looked at Dad.

"Edward get that thing to calm down. Darius is getting impatient"

"that thing is your daughter. il be out in 5 minutes." Dad said with a scowl. mother just rolled her eyes with irritation then let out a puff of frustration.

"whatever just hurry. remember you wanted to keep it," she said looking at me and then slamming the door.

"Why doesn't mommy want me?" I asked tears rolling down my face no longer from Barney but from my mom.

"because she a bitch." Dad mumbled under his breath. 

"what's a bitch daddy?"

realizing I heard him he told me  "Nothing. what if I sing you the Barney theme song? will you be a big girl then?"

"yes yes yes" I scratched clapping my hands. he stood up and wobbled back and forth as if he was a big dinosaur and started to sing "I love you."

when he finished he pulled me into a hug.
