chapter 20: the entrance to hades

"ok, I think il be the first to say. this is creepy as fuck." Ben said a little too loud.

"Shhh don't be so loud," I said sharply

"sorry," he said in a whisper.

'ding dong'

"wait did you guys see anyone in the front when we were walking up?"Arron said

"no."

"what if they saw us?" what if ...." Ben stopped mid-sentence as the basement floor started to spiral open. Suddenly a spiral staircase formed and footsteps started to come from inside the hole. looking at the others they knew what I was trying to say without opening my mouth. we each looked for a hiding place and waited. As we listened it got louder and louder until finally a form emerged from the hole. the form was wearing a cloak covering any distinct form.

it ran up the stairs to the main floor and as the door closed shut so did the hole.

"whoa. that's Narley" Ben said

"so this wasn't in the schematics," Mitchell said staring at where the hole was prior.

"do you guys see it glowing?" I asked noticing a form glowing and making a distance form that looked familiar.

"no, it's pitch black," Ben said

"Ya. no glow on my end," Arron said

"What I don't see anything," Mitchell said noticing us all looking at him from our hiding places.

just then it hit me. it looked familiar because its the danax symbol. i was just about to tell the others when the door opened from upstairs. bending back down into my hiding place I saw another figure come walking down with the figure from before.

"you are keeping us waiting. you know how the boss feels about tardiness" said the figure leading the way. Unfortunately, they were using a voice distorted so it only sounded like a robotic voice speaking.

"please it's not like he actually cares about me," said the figure behind the first

"his feelings for you are relevant. it looks bad that you aren't here. it shows you are a weak link. You aren't an actual weak link are you?" the second figure said stopping suddenly.

"what are you suggesting?"

"please don't be idiotic. you know perfectly well what I mean." the first figure said turning suddenly and grabbing the other figure's hand "I don't want to risk losing you if something goes wrong"

"you worry too much," the figure behind the first said reaching for the first figure's face and then pulling off the voice distorted pulling figure 1 into a kiss. after the kiss, they pulled away and put the distorted back on.

"so hows your walking going?" the first figure asked.

"just fine. like you said before though we have to hurry along" the second figure said

"very well," the first figure said feeling the sid of the stairwell. when the first figure found what they were looking for they pushed in and the hole in the floor opened up again. they started to walk down and after about a minute the hole closed.

"who was that and why were they wearing those creepy cloaks?" Ben said stepping out of his hiding spot.

"I don't know but being that the file said sacrifice I think we have to go down there." I said

"Have you lost your mind," Arron said

"maybe a little. but if James was looking into this group that's where he went. what if he's in trouble and that's why we haven't been able to get in contact with him? what if they took him as a and I hate to say this but sacrifice? if we're lucky they are about to start which means we could save him. or would you rather leave your friend in the hands of a Murdures cult?" I said knowing that fear was just talking for him.
