Kiko Suzuki

"Where's that ruckus coming from...?"

"It's coming from over there.  Come on, we have to go!"

Kiko and a few other Hashira ran for what felt like forever.  Her, Shinobu, Mitsuri, Kyojuro, and Giyu.  However, they all stopped, realizing what was going on.  There were no waves of demons.  However, there was only one demon.  Kiko raised an eyebrow.  Why would one demon be there exactly?

The demon had silver hair and was rather tall.  What was standing out more about the demon in front of the group of Hashira was the rainbow-colored eyes he had.  Kiko tensed up, feeling cold air around her.

The demon had slowly turned around, making eye contact with the group.  Suddenly, a friendly smile came on his face.  A closed eyed smile, to be precise.

"Why hello, friends!  I'm surprised a group like this has found me here!  I thought no one would ever find me!"  The demon had said, clasping his hands together.  Kiko had taken notice of the kanji in his eyes.  After a few seconds of staring, her eyes widened on who it was.

Upper Moon 2.  Douma.  Shinobu's expression turned into one that was unreadable for the group.  She then muttered something under her breath.  Her fists slowly had started to clench up.  Kiko could see that.

"It's... it's you..."  Shinobu had mumbled under her breath.  She had recognized him.  Kiko had recognized him as well.  She slowly puts her hand on her sword.  But before she could do anything further, she hears the demon speak up.

"Let's... make this interesting, shall we?"  Douma had begun, the closed eyed smile remaining on his face.  He then pointed at Shinobu.  "How about... you?"  He had asked.  Shinobu's smiling face wasn't there anymore.

Her expression was now one with anger.  Hatred.  Resentment.  Shinobu then slowly draws her sword, the expression on her face not changing.  Kiko knew that Shinobu could be scary when angry, since she grew up with her after all.

"Fine.  I was wanting to face you at some point anyway."  Shinobu had muttered, as she slowly walked over to Douma.  Douma had shrugged a little, then tilted his head to the side.  However, the bright smile remained on his face.

"You did?  Well then..."  Douma had begun.  He then snapped his fingers, then a very cold breeze flew by.  Suddenly, a cold mist was in the way of Kiko and the group.  Kiko quickly looked around for moment.  Shinobu wasn't standing by her side anymore.  Where did she go?

"Wait, where did she go?!  Wasn't she right by us?!"  Mitsuri had exclaimed as she looked around.  Kiko was just as confused as Mitsuri was.  Giyu then decided to speak up, getting the attention of the girls.

"We have demons coming by.  Get ready." Giyu had said simply, taking notice of another wave of demons.  Kiko had nodded, before drawing her sword.  She lets out a shout before running into the demons, slashing them and taking them out, as many as she could.

Fortunately, the Hashira within this group were able to take out the demons very easily.  Kiko was impatient though, since she needed to get to Shinobu.  She couldn't just leave the closest friend she grew up with to fight a demon like that.  Especially when it was an Upper Moon demon.

By the time the demons were gone, the group had ended up at a dead end.  Kiko clenched her fists.  Where was she supposed to go now?  She turned around, the expression on her face unreadable.

Before she could say anything though, she saw something... falling.  Or someone.  Kiko squinted her eyes to see who it was.  She took a few steps closer.  It looked like... a butterfly.

Wait... butterfly?  How did Kiko see it that way?  After a few moments of processing that thought, Kiko's eyes widened in horror, realizing who it was.

Shinobu.

Kiko's legs started moving on its own, and it happened very quickly.  With a shout, she starts running towards the falling female, ignoring the calls of her friends behind her.

"SHINOBU!!!"

Within a few seconds, Kiko had caught the female in her arms, then skidding to a stop.  The Rainbow Hashira held onto her friend tightly, as she takes notice that Shinobu looked like she was on the brink of death.  Shinobu slowly opens her eyes, making eye contact with the horrified expression on Kiko's face.

"K-Kiko... you came back for me?  I... I thought that I would join my sister."  Shinobu had said, a bitter chuckle coming out.  However, the smile remained on her face.  Kiko immediately shook her head.

"No...!  No!  Kanae wouldn't want you to die like that!  There are so many people who need you!  You can't do this!  Please...!"  Kiko had felt tears pour down her face.  However, Shinobu gently placed a hand on her shoulder.  It was the first time she had a gentle grip on Kiko.

Growing up, Shinobu was close with her, but she was always harsh on her whenever they trained together.  So, seeing this now, had shocked Kiko.  It even caught her off guard.  Shinobu had chuckled a little.  "Don't cry... Kiko.  This... is what I needed to do.  You have others... who need you.  Don't leave them behind.  Help them."  Shinobu had muttered, as she felt herself closing her eyes.  "Thank you... for being my friend, Kiko.  Thank you..."

Kiko had felt Shinobu's hand on her shoulder loosen and her arm falls to her side.  The female felt tears pour down her face, as she holds onto her friend close to her.  And with that, she starts to cry softly.

"N-No... Shinobu... please... you can't do this..."  She had mumbled.  She didn't bother to wipe the tears away from her face.  She hears footsteps behind her, as she continued to cry.  She didn't even realize that the people decided to circle around her.

"Kiko...!  She's fine!  Please don't cry!"  Kiko then looked up, hearing that.  Mitsuri had pointed this out.  It seemed like Mitsuri had just checked Shinobu's pulse.  She could hear it beat.

"What...?"  Kiko had begun, not believing it at first.  However, she had sworn that Shinobu had passed.  She could clearly see her injuries.  They were very severe.  Shinobu looked like she could die at any moment.

"We'll take her to the Butterfly Mansion!  Well, she is the one who's in charge of the mansion, but the Kakushi and Aoi can help her!  I know that for sure!"  Mitsuri had replied, a hopeful expression on her face.  Kiko paused for a moment, processing that.

Before Kiko could say anything though, she hears more footsteps behind her.  She turns around, seeing some Kakushi run towards the scene.  Kiko's expression then changes.  She then slowly stands up, holding the female in her arms.

"Can you... take Shinobu back to the Butterfly Mansion?  She'll... need to be healed.  Aoi can help."  Kiko had muttered.  The Kakushi members looked at each other nodded, then one of them slowly taking Shinobu in their arms.

"W-We'll do our best, Lady Suzuki!"

The Kakushi then scurried off with her.  On the other hand, Kiko slowly turns around.  Her hand then moves to her sword once more.  She then slowly draws it out, facing towards the direction where the demons once stood.

"Kiko... what are you doing?"  Kyojuro had begun, not expecting for her to do that.  Kiko doesn't face Kyojuro, but she continues to speak.

"I'm going to finish what Shinobu had started."
