Taeko Miyazaki
The brunette-haired female walked around the room she was in. Shinobu had told her that she needed to stay in a separate room, since she had a lot of injuries since Muzan was defeated. Taeko had understood that.
It had been a few months ever since that long lasting battle. And now, everything was over. Taeko couldn't believe it. She remembered the cries of joy that she had heard from her siblings. Remembering them hugging her, crying out in joy, blubbering out that they were happy to see her again, and they thought that she was gone.
On the other hand, with her, most of her injuries had been healed, but there were a few that needed to be checked on. Taeko had looked at her arms and the bandage that was wrapped around her head.
"Miss Shinobu does a really good job with healing our injuries..." Taeko had muttered out loud. It wasn't going to heal in a few seconds or anything, but her injuries would heal in one week the most. Taeko had sat back down on the bed, sighing quietly. She hadn't been able to see anyone ever since she was in this room. She didn't want to admit it, but she did feel a bit lonely.
But she didn't mind the peace and quiet and she had on her own either. She snapped out of her thoughts, hearing the door knock. Taeko raise an eyebrow, as she slowly stood up, walking over to the door. She thought it would be one of her siblings. They had visited her frequently in this room after all.
But to her surprise, it wasn't any of her siblings. It was a boy with yellow hair.
Taeko had a surprised expression on her face at first. However, a soft smile comes on her face. "Ah, hey Zenitsu." She had stated. But Zenitsu had a different expression on his face this time. He wasn't crying about wanting to see Taeko again or anything. However, he wasn't smiling either. Instead, his expression on his face was grim. Serious.
"Taeko..." Zenitsu had begun. "Do you mind if I speak to you?" He had asked.
"Sure, I don't mind at all. But... are you okay? You seem... really serious." Taeko had pointed out. Zenitsu had simply walked past her and sat down on the bed that Taeko had just sat down on. Taeko slowly felt a feeling of nervousness go up her stomach. Did she do something wrong? She really hoped that wasn't the case. If so, she wanted to fix it.
"Taeko."
Taeko then turned to Zenitsu, whose expression still had that serious look. He then looked up, made eye contact with her.
"Why didn't you tell me that you were going to help Shinozuka save Kanjoro from Muzan?"That question made Taeko's heart drop. She then frowned, remembering that her and Shinozuka had left abruptly to save Kanjoro. And she thought that everything had turned out to be in vain. But she guessed that things like this had changed.
"I-"
"Do you realize how we would've felt if you and Shinozuka left to save him? Tanjiro was already upset that Kanjoro was already taken."
Taeko then stepped closer to Zenitsu, placing her hand on her own chest. "I'm sorry Zenitsu, but I wanted to help. Kanjoro's my friend too, and I didn't want Shinozuka to do this alone-"
"But don't you realize how we would've felt if you both could've died for real? Huh? You have siblings that care about you. Shinozuka has his father."
Taeko could hear Zenitsu raising his voice the more he said that sentence. Suddenly, Zenitsu quickly stood up from the bed, and rushed over to Taeko. And suddenly, the female had felt his hands firmly gripping onto her shoulders.
"If you told me that you were going to help, then I would've helped too! Same with Inosuke and Tanjiro! I could've lost you! We could've lost you three! Don't you realize that's selfish of you to do something like that?!"
Taeko flinched a little, not expecting Zenitsu to raise her voice at her like that. However, the moment she thought about it, Zenitsu's words had gotten to her. Was she selfish for doing something like that? For trying to save a friend, while leaving Zenitsu and her own siblings behind? Only for the sake for one of her closest friends? Taeko had looked away from Zenitsu for a few moments, thinking about it. She then looked down at the floor.
"I know all I wanted to do is to save a friend, but a part of me did realize how this would affect you all before I left. I should've told you, but I didn't want to worry you. I'm so sorry..." Taeko had said, her voice turning soft. Zenitsu had felt tears pouring down his eyes. His body nearly fell onto Taeko's, and he buried his face into her shoulder, his arms around her waist.
"I just... I just didn't want to lose you. You're the most important person I ever had besides our friends. You're too precious to me..."
Taeko didn't expect the sudden weight on her body. However, she wrapped her arms around Zenitsu's body as well, returning the gesture. The two stayed close to each for a few seconds, before pulling away a little. But their bodies were still close to each other.
However, their faces were close to each other as well. Taeko's cheeks was burning up, and she slowly looked away. Zenitsu gently grabbed her chin, making her face him. A soft smile came on his face, as his eyes took notice of her lips.
Taeko then suddenly felt Zenitsu's lips touch hers in an instant. Zenitsu's arms around her waist became firmer, keeping her close to him. Taeko quickly closed her eyes, slowly kissing back. The kiss was soft and rather gentle. Zenitsu hadn't kissed her in so long.
After a few seconds, the two pulled away. However, the male pulled her into another kiss once more. Taeko's eyes widened, not expecting it at all, but kissed back anyways. This time, the kiss was gradually filled with passion. Taeko didn't want to pull away from this. Her hands had slowly moved to his shoulders.
Zenitsu had pulled away from her once more. Taeko's cheeks were a bright red. Zenitsu then hugged her tightly, making the female immediately hug back. "I'll always love you... please don't forget that." He had muttered in a low tone of voice. Taeko smiled softly.
"I know. I love you too. Always."
