"Alina!" I gasped as I saw the raven haired girl, ride beside Mal. They looked exhausted, and Bahra seemed to me missing."Adelaide!" Alina shouted, jumping off her horse as she ran towards me. Nikolai, Dominik and Genya made their way over to us. "We lost Bahra." She cried.
"No." I said shaking my head.
"It's true. She's gone." Mal spoke up as hurt flood his eyes.
"She saved my life." Genya said, grabbing my arm as she blinked loose tears away.
"Mine too." I managed to say through soft tears. She had helped me through so much. She helped me escape Aleksander.
"Before she died, she broke the connection between you and Kirigan." Alina spoke up. I could tell that she was holding back from crying.
"I no longer feel him." I said, pausing to think. "Does that mean he's dead?"
"Safest to proceed as if he's alive, until we hear otherwise." Nikolai interrupted while placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"And the firebird?" I asked, causing Alina and Mal to look at each other.
"Mal knows where it is."
"Alina, I-" Mal spoke before Dominik interrupted him.
"Tell us what you need to find it. Everything we have is at your disposal."
"It appears Kirigan's on the move. He..." I hesitated even though I knew ai had to tell them. "He destroyed
the First Army camp at Keramzin.""Our scouts say there are no survivors." Nikolai added.
"He knows my weaknesses." Alina croaked.
"Two teams, then. One go with, uh..." Dominik still didn't know who Mal was. I guess with all the news, we forgot to introduce them.
"Oretsev, sir." Mal said warningly which I thought was sweet as they shook hands.
"Dominik."
"One team goes with Oretsev to get the Firebird, another goes straight at the Darkling to stop him advancing." I said, turning to Nikolai.
"Tomorrow, then, we move." He commanded.
