A/N: Hello! I wanted to try something new for me. Here's a "Luffy POV" chapter. Sorry if it's shit or throws you off. I feel it's necessary for this one.
I couldn't quite place my finger on it, but something felt off with Zou as soon as I arrived with the others. It didn't help that May had a smaller version of me clinging to her. I hated the fact that she was loving on a little fake me while I was right there next to her. However, when the girl who traveled with May took him and May disappeared with Wanda, I felt calm with her smiling over her shoulder at me.
"You're such a fool." I scrunched up my nose and tilted my head at the travel buddy.
"What?" I asked.
"You're so in love with her and you can't even express it properly. It's painful to watch." She settles onto the bench next to me as I pour in annoyance.
"I show it!" I argue. "What do you know, Zoomie..."
"It's Umi," She growls lowly. "Maylene has said my name how many times now?"
"Whatever," I mutter before crossing my legs over one another atop the bench. "Anyways, I express my love for May just fine."
"Really?"
"Yeah!"
"Has she ever told you she felt unloved?" I pause and stare at her. "Has she ever told you she doesn't think her life is necessary?" Again, I didn't speak. "She killed herself in her past life. What makes you think she will not do it again?" She stands up, taking the little version of me with her. I watch as she disappears into the crowd of Minks before I groan and place my head in my hands. I knew how Maylene felt about herself. I didn't understand it, so I was always trying so hard to make sure to have her ignore it.
"What's with you?" Nami asks when she appears in front of me. I sigh and look around, trying to see if Maylene has returned as well.
"Boomie said something that irritated me," I admit.
"Boomie?" She pauses for a beat. "Oh, you mean Umi." I nod. "What did she say that could make you so upset with yourself?"
"I don't express my love for May enough." She's silent after my words. I make eye contact and furrow my brow. "Nami?" Nothing. "Do you think I don't show her enough, too?"
"It's not that you don't show her, 'cause yeah, you don't leave her alone, but the fact she can't feel it is a bit concerning." I frown at her answer. "All you have to do is find a way to express just how much you love her." I sigh in frustration.
"I need Sanji!" I groan. "He could cook me food and teach me how to make a woman happy!" Nami gives an irritated look.
"How is his advice better than an actual woman's?" I ignore her and stand up quickly to go find Maylene. "She's gonna be coming out soon, but you can wait by the entrance if you want." Nami already knew exactly what my plan was. I smiled over at her and nodded, taking off in the direction she recommended. Minks were surrounding the area and chatting loudly with someone, blocking the path. I was about to shove through when the little me jumped from Lumi and took off toward the crowd.
"May!" He shouts before weeding through the legs of the crowd. I frown and stretch my neck until my head is above the crowd. I could see Maylene facing away from me and talking to a few Minks as they rubbed against her.
"Maylene!" I call. However, the Minks were too loud and they blocked my voice easily. I grunted in annoyance and put my head back down, looking to find a way to her. Finally, I decided to climb over the crowd if I couldn't make it through. I landed face-first in the dirt in the end, but I now stood in the middle of the group.
