The wedding was set to start soon and I watched as Luffy bounced around, ready to plan out his attack. I, on the other hand, was nervous and biting my thumbnail in anticipation.
"Are you okay, May?" Nami catches my attention quickly. I turn to face her and the others.
"Is this really okay?" I whisper. "I can't just depend on all of you to protect me."
"If you do this, we can guarantee your safety from Katakuri," She reminds me. "This was Luffy's idea, remember?" I frown at her words.
"You said we could do this with or without your help, right?" Sanji questions. I nod once. "Then stay safe as Luffy wishes." I bite the inside of my cheek before glancing back at the bumbling boyfriend.
"If I stay where I'm told, Katakuri still might find me," I inform them. "What happens if he does?"
"We will make sure you're safe no matter what!" Chopper exclaims with a large and determined grin. "We promise!" I returned the smile and reached down, picking him up and holding him out in front of me.
"If I get hurt, will you patch me up?"
"Absolutely!"
"Then I'll listen to the plan." I place him back on the ground and clear my throat when I spin to face Luffy. The man stops and tilts his head at me with curiosity. "I'm ready."
"Alright!" He bounces toward me with a chuckle of excitement. "I'll wake you up when we are done!" I nod in understanding.
"She accepted the proposal?" Bege asks when he walks into the room. I meet him halfway, extending my hand.
"Whatever happens here, I do wish you well, Capone Bege." He huffs, but he doesn't ignore my gesture. He shakes my hand firmly before the door to his chest opens. I feel myself shrink into the castle of his body, the door staying open for me to say goodbye to my friends.
"We will see you when it's over!" Sanji claims. I held my breath as I walked away from the heavy door. Two of Bege's men guided me to a room with a bed in it, but it was the only piece of furniture it contained.
"We will safely transport you to the Straw Hat crew when it is time to depart," One of the men informed me. I thanked them quietly before they left the room. I lay back on the cold mattress that was surprisingly soft. I haven't time skipped in months. I wasn't able to do it during the two years I was gone, finding that it didn't work anymore. Would it still work? Could I still even time skip?
"It's worth a shot I suppose..." My words dragged away from them as my eyes closed and I took deep breaths. I needed to think of an arrival point; I needed to find somewhere I could safely come out of hiding to avoid Katakuri and the other Big Mom Pirates. I felt my head pounding, knowing it's been so long since I'd even attempted this. Will my body be able to withstand it?
"Find it," I mutter to myself. "Find a safety net. Dive into it." My heart hurt when it pounded in my chest. I could feel the anxiety building up in me. "Calm down, Maylene. Find your center and focus." My mind immediately went to Luffy. I had to get back to him no matter the cost. My breathing slowed and I saw a light that felt like an exit of hope.
"May!" I nearly screamed when my name echoed loudly in my ear. I couldn't open my eyes fully, though.
"She's not waking up," Brook comments nervously.
"Maybe she's still skipping time?" Nami suggests.
"Why so far, though?" Carrot wonders with a slight whine. "She should be safe now!" I could feel and hear everyone, but my body couldn't move. It was as if I was stuck in a comatose state.
