Astrid's POV / 1778
I awoke that morning, and sat up, grabbing the bandages from the floor next to my bed. I rewrapped my thigh and put on my pants, as well as my boots. It was healing well, but slowly, and I felt a little bit of pain whenever I moved or sat down. I stood up, cracking my fingers. Sleep hadn't come easy, so I was tired. Living on half an hour of sleep isn't the nicest. Non of the boys were in the tent, accept Lafayette who was still asleep. I walked over to his bed and slowly shook him awake. He groaned and locked eyes with me, a smile growing on his lips.
''Good morning sunshine, c'mon get up we've got things to do'' I said, as he nodded, slowly getting up. I walked back over to my bed, placing the bayonette into its sheaf and my gun in his Hollister. When I turned around laf was standing there, his fingers rubbing his temples, trying to nurse a headache. I smiled at the French man, and kissed his forehead. It was a thing we did, I'd kiss his forehead, and he'd kiss my cheek, just something we did, non romantic. We both left the tent, him helping me due to my wound.
''Tu ne devrais pas sortir du lit mon ami!'' He said, looking down at me. I punched his shoulder and didn't give him a reply. He started ranting about all the affects about what could happen to me, or what could happen to the wound. We reached john and Alex, him still going. Alex looked up at him briefly before hugging me.
''Laf, do us all a favour, and shut up'' John said, and we all burst into laughter. Laf nodded, and put his hands up, apologizing. We all quickly forgave him, and set out to Washingtons tent. This was going to be either great, or horrific. We got to the outside and knocked, before a muffled voice let us in. But wasn't Washington, it was a strange-looking man, the same height as Alex.
''Lee! who is it!?'' We heard a voice shout, and this supposed 'lee' stared at us, He looked at me leaning on laf, and gave me a look. I couldn't figure out what look, but he didn't seem happy. He turned to Alex and john, who stood there, arms crossed. They were pretty close together, and me and Lafayette had our suspicions that they were linking.
''And you are?'' He asked, almost disgusted. I clenched my jaw, and so did laf. After I found out alexander was my older brother, it was almost like I had switched. Sure I cared about him beforehand but I never properly felt it, until afterwards. Alex stepped forward, his footprints becoming clearer in the mud. I looked at lee once more, was this the kid Washington had given the promotion to?
''Alexander Hamilton. That's john Laurens, Aristide Jacques and Marquis de Lafayette. Now, we'd like to see General Washington.'' He said, referencing to each of us by name. His voice was filled with annoyance, and obvious already formed hatred. It was clear alexander knew him, but he didn't know alexander.
''General Washingtons bus-'' ''just move connard'' I growled, storming past him. I walked into Washington's office, and he looked up at me, a smile on his face. He went to speak, but then he saw my expression, and Laf, alexander and john coming up behind me. He sighed, knowing what it was about. We had told Washington about everything, so he knew.
''I'm assuming that's the man you gave the lieutenant job to huh? Not to me, not to my brother, not to john, god not even Lafayette sir?'' I said, looking at him. He stood up, and sighed pulling off his glasses. He walked around his desk, and leant on it, staring at me. I awaited his answer, knowing he was trying to formulate the most non-offending answer he could.
''We need you alive. Your my best shot at winning this war, if you die. We loose.'' He said, and I nodded, balling my fists. We were only soldiers? Only pieces on the chest board against England? I bowed, and stormed out of the tent. Thank god no one followed me, I didn't feel like yelling at anyone. I limped back to the tent, and sat on my bed, my head in my hands.
I eventually settled, the blanket over me, my tears wetting the sheets. I sighed, and rubbed my face. I stood up, walking over to the desk, my fathers letter on my mind. I could write to him, or I could go to him myself. But then gain he'd probably kick my lights out. I sighed and sat there for a second, staring at the wall.

1778 - Battle of Monmouth
I sighed, looking at Laf. He was worried, and so was I. Alexander was Washingtons assistant, and john was off in the south side of Monmouth. The blood shed was incredible, and the amount of blood on my coat was horrendous. Herc wouldn't be proud. I slashed a redcoats chest open, and looked over to the men who were screaming. It was Lee, and Washington going back and forth.
''Attack''
''retreat!''
''Attack!''
''Retreat!''
''What the hell is he doing!?'' John yelled, looking at me. I shrugged and shot anyone I could. I grabbed a gun from a dead body, and took out the magazine. It was full. I yelled in happiness and aimed my gun at them. Washington and Lee went back and forward, before Washington yelled for me.
''take over with Lafayette!'' He yelled, and i smirked at my best friend. I unsheifed my bayonette and ran over to him, as cannon balls rained over us. We made our way through the British, killing every red dot we saw. I saddled a British horse and ran into battle, Lafayette covering us. We were unstoppable. The British were retreating, and we had done it. But Charles was left with no easy way out. We counted our dead, collected foreign weaponry, and discarded of magazines.
I walked past Charles, and he was talking to his so called friends. That only consisted of Aaron burr and a random soldier that joined recently. He mentioned alexanders name, so i pretended i was doing something behind them, and listened to what they had to say,
Washington cannot be left alone to his devices, Indecisive, from crisis to crisis! The best thing he can do for the revolution, Is turn n' go back to plantin tobacco in Mount Vernon!'' He yelled, and anger bubbled up inside of me. It was clear Washington and Alex heard, only from a few metres away. Washington started trying to calm Alex down and I turned Alex around roughly.
''Strong words from Lee, we got to hold him to it big bro'' I said, as I balled my fists. It was obvious we were both angry, Alex looked down, annoyance in his eyes.
''I cant disobey direct orders.'' He said, firmly but slowly, like he was evaluating the situation. Then an idea popped into my head. My gun work was almost perfection, and had amazing aim. He looked at me, knowing what I was going to say. He shook his head, and I grabbed his band, making him look up at me.
''I can do it Alex, I'm good with a gun. Promise.'' I said, and he shook his head once more. I clenched his hand in my fist, until he yelled in pain. He sighed, and looked at me, before turning away.
''Don't loose your shot little sis.'' He said, and I cringed at his words. We could never pull off the 'sis' and 'bro' type of relationship. I nodded, and looked towards lee. I stride over to him, looking him in the eyes. We weren't the same height, so it was good for me. I was a little bit taller though, since him and Alex were the same height.
''Me. You. Outside Philadelphia. Dawn'' I growled, anger lacing my voice, my French accent completely gone. He took a step forward. He smirked at me, then took his gun out of his holster. He aimed it to the sky while staring at me, and his grin grew wider.
''Your on coward.'' He said, and I lost it, pounding his face into the ground. Aaron and the unknown soldier just stood there and watched. I punched him one more time, as well as kicking him in the gut and left him alone. I walked back to the tent, my knuckles bloody and bruised, as well as a black eye forming, due to some good hits he finally got. As soon as I entered the tent, Lafayette stood there, pacing the room. HIs eyes landed on my hands and he murmured something id never hear him say.
''ay carumba..''
