Sarah stood in the middle of their living room, her fists clenched at her sides. John stood nearby, his arms folded across his chest as he glared at her. The tension between them was thick, and neither of them spoke for what felt like an eternity.

Finally, Sarah spoke, her voice low and shaking with emotion. "I can't do this anymore, John. I can't pretend that everything is okay when it's not."

John's expression softened slightly, and he took a step towards her. "I know things have been tough, Sarah, but we can work through it. We can go to counselling, and we can fix this."

Sarah shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "No, John. I can't keep living like this. I can't keep pretending that everything is okay when it's not. I need some time alone to figure things out."

John took another step towards her, his arms outstretched as if to embrace her. But Sarah recoiled from his touch, her fists clenching even tighter.

"Don't touch me, John," she spat. "You don't get to touch me anymore."

John's expression turned to one of hurt and confusion. "What are you talking about, Sarah?"

Sarah took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. "I'm talking about all the times you've hurt me, John. All the times you've lied to me, cheated on me, and made me feel like I'm not enough."

John opened his mouth to speak, but Sarah held up a hand to stop him. "No, John. I'm done. I'm packing my things, and I'm leaving."

John's face twisted with anger. "You can't just leave, Sarah. We have a life together."

Sarah turned away from him, ignoring his words as she began to gather her things. John followed her, his words turning into a barrage of angry accusations and pleas for her to stay.

But Sarah was done listening. She grabbed her suitcases and headed for the door, ignoring John's protests as she stepped outside. Their neighbours had gathered on the sidewalk, watching the scene with concern.

Sarah brushed past them without a word, her mind already racing with plans for her new life without John.
