Chapter 15: The Accident

John had always been a reckless driver, but Sarah never thought it would lead to this. She received the call from the hospital in the middle of the night, her heart racing as she rushed to the emergency room.

When she arrived, she saw John lying on the hospital bed, his face bruised and cut, his body battered and broken. The doctor informed her that he was in critical condition and they were doing everything they could to save him.

Sarah stayed by his side, praying for his recovery. But as the days went by, it became clear that John's injuries were too severe. He slipped into a coma, and the doctors told her that there was little hope of him ever waking up.

Sarah was devastated. She had never imagined life without John, despite everything that had happened between them. She couldn't bear the thought of him being gone forever.

Days turned into weeks, and Sarah never left John's side. She held his hand, whispered words of love and encouragement, and hoped for a miracle. But it never came.

Finally, after several agonising weeks, John's condition deteriorated, and the doctors informed Sarah that they had done all they could. She made the difficult decision to take him off life support, and John passed away peacefully, with Sarah by his side.

Sarah was inconsolable, but in the days that followed, she found comfort in the memories of their happy times together. She realised that despite all their problems, she had loved John deeply, and would always cherish the time they had spent together.

The accident was a tragic end to their story, but Sarah knew that John would always hold a special place in her heart. She vowed to honour his memory by living her life to the fullest and never taking a single day for granted.
