Almost 6 years earlier.....

"It's okay." Alaia said, taking a deep breath.

The twins were only three weeks old, and she was just getting off a flight back home.

Her mother was still unaware of her and her fathers argument, and Alaia would prefer to keep it that way.

As she sat with both carseats, she waited on her mother.

Her mother knew she had given birth, but the surprise visit was just that a surprise.

Alaia had always had a plan, but lately, things had not gone as expected.

A place was costing more than she expected, and even with money, it was the fact she had no job that no place would approve her.

It was a downhill battle, and she and her newborns had been in a hotel since being released from the hospital.

She was back home for the holidays, but she debated on making it permanent.

"Baby!!" India said, hopping and hugging her daughter before grabbing one of the car seats.

Alaia, in the meanwhile, loaded up the car with everything she brought.

"You brought a lot of stuff?" India said as she finished buckling up the twins.

Alaia had brought everything with her.

She wasn't sure if she was going to go back to school. She had figured out daycare, but still no housing. She didn't even have a car for that matter as the entire ride she remained in her thoughts.

"You look tired." India said, and Alaia looked out the window.

"Look, I know it's been. A lot, but im proud of you. Handling all these things on top of havin twins." India said with a smile.

"You were always going to be good, mom, your brother even thought so." India said, trying to reassure Alaia, but it only made her break out into tears.

"Oh baby." She said, rubbing her back.

India drove as she tried to console her daughter.

"Is it the dad? He's makin it hard?" India asked, and Alaia hadn't even told her mother she had all intentions of doing it on her own.

If she had, it was a likely chance she would have suggested an abortion, the same as he father when he first found out.

"Ma, it's just me. I'm on my own." She said, taking a deep breath and wiping her face.

India wasn't going to ask, seeing that Alaia was upset, but she figured whenever she was ready to talk, she would.

"Oh, ok." India said as she glanced to her daughter.

"So school?" India started, and Alaia hadn't figured out anything past the fact she wasn't going to raise the twins.

"Ma, i dont know." Alaia started to cry again.

"Laia, it's okay." India said, reassuring her daughter.

"If you wanna come back, you can. I'll help you no matter what." India said, rubbing her back as she drove.

"You always take on the world. You've been like that since. you were little, but I also knew that you would be the one to go far. Always." She said proudly.

"So whatever you need me to do in order to help, I will." India said, and Alaia looked at her mother.

Really, the only person she felt that was in her corner
