***Both Alaia and Chosen have not been working and as to why it is addressed in this chapter. Just an FYI I totally dropped a part out of a previous chapter (Chapters ago) and I just noticed. I kinda added in here so hopefully it causes no confusion, lemme know if it does.
"Baby, why be mad at things that have nothin to do with you?" India asked and Alaia looked towards her.
"mom it's complicated." She said and India turned the chicken over as she shook her head.
"Not really from what you said." She looked at her.
"He had a son, or a potential son before you guys got together, before you moved back and he didn't know about until you told him." She said and Alaia nodded.
"He probably was so caught at the idea of havin a baby to take care of he didn't think bringing his son home would be an issue." She explained and Alaia knew she had a point.
"I cant say i know everything but he seems like a good father and I'm sure he just wanted his kids to have the opportunity to know and see each other." India added looking at her daughter.
"He's going through it just like you but more so. More kids, more problems, and now siblings?" She sighed.
"Baby, I love you but Alaia, sometimes you can be a little hard on people. Not saying its a bad thing but for Chosen right now, he jus needs you." India explained.
"But-" She tried.
"The DNA test wit the twins?" She said already knowing that's what her daughter was going to go for next.
Alaia nodded.
"That's jus men baby, and he had every right to do so. Don't forget you came back 5 years later telling him about kids he didn't know about. And even after all of that, he still wanted to be wit you." India patted her daughter shoulder.
"I always told you that you were the prize and that's true but don't be so full of yourself that you miss out on something more valuable than anything, true love." She said and Alaia nodded as she looked at her.
She took what her mother was saying and she couldn't help but feel like an asshole.
Alaia added cheese to the top of the macaroni before she put it in the oven and turned to her mother.
"Just talk to him and stop puttin it all on him cause you know I love my son-in-law." India said before Alaia got the chance to answer.
"And I'm takin a plate wit me cause I ain't come over here to cook and you got me at yo stove." India said and Alaia sucked her teeth.
"Momma you came cause you team Chose and you also was bein nosey askin what I was cookin. I didn't even ask you for help then you came in complain bout how I was cookin it now look." She said to her mother with a fork in her hand and they both laughed.
"Girl get me some Tupperware ready." She said and Alaia chuckled as she did so.
She knew her mom was right and the more she stood there Alaia felt like an asshole.
Chosen had messed up and he admitted it, he even tried to fix things but here she was immaturely running away.
Alaia sighed.
"Granny babies give me some love before I go." India said making her way out of the kitchen.
As Alaia started to put food in the container for her mother he squinted her eyes at her but India turned and continued to love on her grand kids.
It wasn't long before she headed back to the kitchen to grab some food.
"Just talk things out and im sure you guys will be fine." She reassured her before grabbing the food and heading for th door.
