  " we are. we're.. dating." 

  "he's amazing."  jennie smiled dreamily.

it's been a couple of days. alleged photos had been leaked . of two certain idols. people wanted answers. of course, yg couldn't release any statements to the public but as a member of blackpink, so you got the answer straight from her.

"im dating jong in."

the girls gasped, clapping their hands and slapping each other in excitement for jennie.
jennie reached into her pocket of her phone, scrolling through to show you all pictures of them together. hugging, kissing and smiling. they looked happy. in love. why wouldn't they be?
the girls all giggle to themselves as jennie sighs happily:
"he's the best. he's such a great person. isn't he so dreamy?"
"sure he is jennie. sure." chaeyoung said jokingly. all the girls had something to say, the excitement in the room was high. you though? you sat on the floor, clenching your jaw, completely silent.
"y/n? what do you think." jennie asked eagerly.
"he's okay." you say, trying your absolute best to look nonchalant.
jennie pouts at your dry answer.
"come on. you're my y/n. your opinion means a lot to me."
you glance sideways at her and look down at the floor as you play with your hands coolly.you shrug.
"im sure he's great jennie. i just don't really care about the guys you date. plus i don't even know him."
all the girls are looking at you now. they aren't daft. something is going on.
"i- well- shouldnt you have more to say? more to ask?" jennie asks, confused. you're usually easily excitable. crazy. dramatic. you'd nearly always have a snarky comment to make that never failed to make jennie chuckle. this isn't like you at all.
you shrug again and pick at your nails.
"im good."

the girls eye each other, the same thing going through their heads.y/n is acting weird.

but in your mind your attempt to mask your confusing explosion of feelings with an 'i dont care' attitude seemed to have pulled of perfectly. the girls didn't suspect a thing. so now you could go back home and actually try to process what you're feeling. jealousy? sadness?
seeing jennies arms wrapped around kai just made you want to roll your eyes. but you didnt know why. jennie was just your best friend, you shouldn't care so much. but you just didn't see what was sooooo 'dreamy' about him.
sure, he was conventionally attractive you had to give him that put you still just didn't find him appealing. or when you think of it, any guy for that matter .girls loved him. but that thing that they saw you just couldn't see in any guy. no matter how hard you tried. what did jennie see in him?
jennie. your beautiful, kind, funny, hot, amazing best friend. liked him?? whatever was in him or maybe even on him. you were blind to it. completely immune.

and it wasn't just kai. you've met a lot of good looking guys. when you say they look good, you mean that. but for whatever reason, you didn't want to see yourself with them in a relationship. in fact you even found yourself physically recoiling from any  guy when they asked you for your number.

"hey pretty. wanna hang out? ditch this place?"
you wince and step away. ew what a cringy line.
"a-uhmm... no thank you..?" you say , slowly stepping backwards.
"could i.. get your number then?" the guy asked, confused. clearly he was not used to rejection.
"mmm actually i should go.. maybe next time. sorry. bye." you ramble and quickly ran away to find the nearest band member you saw which happened to be rosé.
"hey pretty~ what's up." she grinned as you popped up beside her. ooh chaeyoung thinks i'm pretty~ you held onto to rosés arm and sidled up to her nervously.
"that eunwoo guy just asked me for my number." you mutter, tucking a piece of hair behind your ears.
"damn. how'd it go?" she asked, stirring her drink.
"uh not really. i said no. i kinda ran.. away."
you admit anxiously.
"mm. wow. why? not your type?" she grinned.
"y-yeah. not really." you say, looking down.
rosé smiled, downing her drink.
"yeah.i totally get it. sometimes i feel the same too."
