AU: highschool   

    you sat in your twin sized bed, located in your small dorm. you were lucky you got one of those dorms that only needed to be shared with one other person and since your only roommate, lisa was out at a party you had some peace.

in the midst of darkness, only a solitary glow remained.
a lamp's warm light upon the nightstand.
i was tucked in secure beneath cozy covers,
with 'The Fault in Our Stars,' on my lap, unfurled.

right here,all elements aligned, a tranquil stage was set, a sanctuary in the dorm, peace beget.
raindrops danced, whispering a gentle plea.
this was the solace my heart had been craving for after a long day.

Yet, in this haven, thoughts of her persistently roamed. if only i could get her out of my head.

lisa. she was that friend you never knew you needed. her vibe fit perfectly with yours, like two puzzle pieces. she was loud, extroverted, hilarious and devastatingly beautiful.
the problem was everyone seemed to like her ,too. she possessed a magnetic aura that effortlessly drew the attention of everyone on campus.
everyone either wanted to be her or be with her.

almost every other night she could dress up and run off to some party, get drunk and come back to the dorm, lipstick stains and hickeys all over her neck and collar bone at almost 5 in the morning. and of course being the person you were, you always looked out for her.
always fussed over her and cleaned her up after her parties and tell her to sleep early.Of course, she never ever listened. So here you were again, tucked away in your bed waiting for her to come back.Why? You honestly  just wanted to spend more time with her, even if that meant forfeiting your sleep. But that was normal right? You told yourself. Wanting to spend more time with your friends was totally a normal thing

  You glanced down at your book that at this point you were only half reading, when Lisa burst through the door. You glance down at your clock. 5:36, right on time lisa. She wasn't drunk, just a little woozy.

"Y/N? Are you waiting for me again? You know you don't have to." Lisa cooed as she walked albeit unsteadily towards you.

"I know....Just wanted to make sure you got back fine." You mumbled as you stood on tiptoe to examine the marks on her neck a bit better.You felt a pang in your chest as you looked at the usual marks littered over her neck.It stung your heart thinking about it.About how she would just go out and play around with some girls while you waited for her to return. Why did you keep doing it then?

"You do know we have classes tomorrow?"You sigh at her while you took off her black leather jacket.

"I know that.But I also know you'll let me copy your notes tomorrow right? You always got my back y/n" she said as she stuck out her tongue playfully and pinched your cheek. You roll your eyes and swatted her hand away before pushing her away to get her to take a shower.

"Yeah yeah..sleep early tomorrow okay." you reminded.

Time skip (the next week)

Well, every week pretty much been the same thing.And you're getting..tired. You walk around the hallways a stride or two ahead of Lisa.Usually, this wouldn't be the case. You would walk alongside her, arm in arm.Lisa could sense that something was wrong too.She quickened her pace and caught you by tugging on your wrist.

"Hey, whatsup? You seem..not happy." Lisa asked. You pursed your lips. You know you didn't have a right to be unhappy about this whole situation because YOU were the one that kept waiting for her but you just couldn't help it. You look up at her gorgeous face. You somehow managed to want to slap her and kiss her at the same time. You bit the inside of your cheek, contemplating your situation. You wanted to confess, you really really wanted to and you kept on dropping subtle hints for her. You took care of her and you sometimes would also make her hold your hand and when you were feeling brave. Yes, you were aware that normal friends probably do that too but you weren't a big fan of PDA and Lisa knew that. Maybe she knew what you were hinting at but she just didn't want to go for it? I mean she does have countless people from campus asking her out on dates and not so subtly hitting on her.Why on earth would SHE pick YOU? I mean how many confessions did she receive a week? Five thousand? God feelings are so complicated.

"Hey! Earth to y/n." you realised that Lisa had cupped your face in her hands and her nose were inches away from yours.How did you not realise that sooner?? You looked into her brown orbs, transfixed and oh my god were your pupils dilating?? Butterflies erupted in your stomach and you squealed subconsciously. SHIT you cursed , in your head of course. You got yourself together and nodded quickly.

"Y-yeah. Fine. I'm fine."You stuttered cuz duh hot people how could you not? She let go of your hand, grinning wolfishly.Perhaps she knew the effect she had on you.You visibly gulped as she took your hand dragged you to class.

Time skip (that night at your dorm)

You sat down, cross legged on your bed in your pyjamas with Lisa facing you since there was no room to lie down.

"No party tonight?" you asked

"Nope." She said, popping the 'P'.  She tilted her head so that her blonde hair fell side ways. You took that chance to admire how her bangs always framed her face perfectly. HOW??

"You've been acting weird lately." She mumbled as she toyed with your hands. You cocked your brow.

"Weird..how?" you countered.Lisa shrugged her shoulders.

"Dunno..just weird...Is it a crush?" she asked wiggling her eyebrows playfully. Your eyes widened , you certainly had not expected that. You looked down at your lap and coughed. Lisa groaned as she walked over and wrapped her arms around you. She placed her cheek slightly above yours.You could her breath on your cheek you could also  feel yourself turning suspiciously scarlet.

"Come on..you can tell your lili.." she husked. you gulped for the second time today.Was she seducing you right now??Your heart pounded and you desperately wanted to tell her.You didn't want this painful wait dragging on any longer so you got it out. You quickly mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like: "ihaveacrushonyou" but Lisa caught it. She smirked.

"I knew that cutie.Just wanted to hear you say it."
