When the school bell rang I hurried and rushed out of class with my friends, Nami, the water bender from the southern water tribe. And Fei, the fire bender that lived in Republic Villa. We were trying to hurry before the festival started later on tonight for it's going to the biggest festival we've ever been to. It is what people called the festival of wishes. Or Ningyō.

20 years ago, there was a meteor shower. It was first one after a century. One meteor landed near a well by a doll maker's house. Upon seeing the rock, he had an idea. He used clumps of dirt from his deceased wife's grave and used some of the meteorite to make a doll that reminded him of her. And he called it Ningyō

Every night, before he went to sleep, he would say a prayer—hoping that his wife would one day come back to him. And then one night, just before his daughter's wedding, his wife appeared before him but not in physical form but in spirit. It was said that the wishing spirit Hina took possession of the doll and granted his wish.

And since that day, it was celebrated as a festival called Ningyō

And since that day, it was celebrated as a festival called Ningyō. Where everyone gathers around the Myodan shrine and makes a wish upon the doll. The shrine was built just a little ways from Avatar Korra's light tower. And my friends and I couldn't wait to go!

My friends and I rushed out the entrance of north side near the courtyard of the school and walked across a large white bridge to the air nomads training grounds. We were on the upper level so straight ahead downwards will be an entrance to my room. Over the years, air temple island has expanded and has been renovated.

It was my grandpa Kai's idea. He thought it was time for a change for the air benders. To better the teachings and the living for them. Or for any non bender or bender who wished to learn the teachings of the air nomads. And to help learn the ways and the teachings of others. That's why schools like mine were created.

"To better help the world, we need to learn how to understand each other as well as to understand ourselves."

Is what my grandpa Tenzin would say. And I believe that we're making great progress so far. But enough with all that. School was out and now it was almost time to get out. So my friends and I finally made it into my room.
