The doll was quick but Chyou and I were right behind her. She led us just a few feet away from the shrine and took us to what looks like a small cemetery behind a small house. "This is my family's cemetery." The doll said. "When my mother died, my father couldn't bear to bury her in her hometown, so he buried her here."

From the small house came out a little girl and her doll that looked identical to the one  Chyou and I are with. She had brown eyes, flowing brown hair and light tan skin. Her little kimono was dirty and she had a few cuts and bruises but that was nothing that I couldn't fix.

She walked slowly towards us holding her doll tightly to her chest. "Grandma?" She asked. "Is that you?"

"Grandma?" I repeated. The doll nods. "That's Midori, my youngest granddaughter." The doll says. "Come Midori. Do you remember what I told you to do?" The little nodded and ran back in the house. "What is she going?" Chyou asked. "She's going to bring out my father." The doll answered.

     "Your father?" I asked.

"Yes." The doll replied. "My father is the only one that knows where the corrupted doll is."

I raised an eyebrow. What in the world... And just before I finished my thought, it came to me. "Are you the daughter of the doll maker that created the festival?" I asked her. She nods her head. "I've recently passed on to the next world just a few months ago. And that shadow that you're fighting is my mother."

Now it all makes sense. I thought. Although every nation heard about the wishing festival, but not too many know the tragedy behind it. Just before the daughter of the doll maker got married, her mother made her doll to give to her daughter. But one day, while she was walking from the market to put on the finishing touches, she was attacked by two fire benders.

They were fire marshals of this region. And they were so mesmerized by the woman's beauty, they decided to take matters into their own hands.

Though she was an earth bender as we now know, however, from how the story went, she tried to fend them off but they overpowered her. And ruined her clothes by throwing her to ground and into the mud. They also ripped off her hair, spitting on her, stomping her with their feet. And violently beating and viciously violating her multiple times.

Each taking turns until she used the needle that she used to make the dress for the doll and stabbed them right in the dicks!

Well deserved if you asked me.

However, she wasn't able to get away. She tried but her body was too heavily damaged and she was barely made it across the river. When her body couldn't take it anymore, she collapsed. And the fire bender officials caught up with her and killed her. Burning her body to ashes!

Nothing was told after that. All that was passed down was the wishing festival history. Maybe the doll maker was too heartbroken to tell his wife's story. I mean, who wouldn't be? And that's probably why she's collecting children. Since she couldn't be with hers, she probably wants to make up for it by collecting as many children as she possibly can.

But we can't let that happen. It is imperative that we soothe her anger and return her to her original location. Mainly back to the spirit world. Finally, the little girl that we saw before emerges from the house along with an elderly gentleman, carrying a walking stick and a shovel, and quickly heads towards the talking doll.

"Grandma, I got grandpa Shin. And he got the shovel." Midori said. "Good work." Said the doll. Grandpa Shin rubs his eyes in amazement. "Makoto, is that you?" He asked. "But how?" Makoto shakes her head. "Now isn't the time. We must hurry and stop mom." Makoto replied.
