"Let's go girls," I told them.

Without skipping a beat, my sisters and I excused ourselves from the table and rushed down the hallway. Kanna's family rushed right behind us shouting. Kanna yelled, "Hey, hold on!" There is no time to waste," I said. "We need to hurry and get to your grandpa as soon as possible."

"But you don't know which general hospital he's in." Kanna's brother said. "He's at the East Republic General Hospital." Mrs. Pema said. "It wouldn't have mattered. All we had to do was follow the black clouds and that headed for him." I explained. "But why?" Mrs. Pema asked. "And what are these dark clouds?" "The black clouds are a sign that something tragic is going to happen," I said. "And if we don't hurry, it will be too late."

Kanna was trying to settle a bison. But I refused. "We have a faster way," I said. My chi is focused on all the light surrounding East Republic Hospital. One person's chi should be darkened just a bit. And that should be Kanna's grandfather. Searched and searched, and in my mind's eye appeared a man lying in a hospital bed, in pain.

Using everything I had, I focused on solely on him. And the fastest element I could use to reach him is by earth. So by synchronizing with the earth under us I used spirit bending to teleport us over to the hospital.

We were standing in front of a door that said 305. Behind the door was Kanna's grandfather, screaming in agony. I quickly opened it and rushed over to his bed side. "Don't give up Mr. Kai!" I cried. "I'm going to help you!"

I stood up straight and concentrated. I pointed to the center where his energy was coming from the most. And I swayed my arms back and forth like a push and pull of water. The evil that was surrounding Mr. Kai was started to come out and formed itself into a dark cloud that's been around just like other ones.

We all can hear the moaning and screaming of the people from Mr. Kai's past from within the cloud and they're not too pleased about leaving Mr. Kai's body.

Well that's too bad. They have to go. The windows were open. And the smell of candles incense were perfect for me to spirit bend this cloud away. I dragged the candles' scents into the room and began bending around the cloud carefully.

My sisters urged everyone to be quiet so I could concentrate and when I start to spirit bend a glimpse of Kai's past enters my mind. "You'll be nothing!" A man shouted. I saw a woman with brown hair and green eyes. She had tears in her eyes. She reaches out and says "I'll take us out of here."

She was on her knees; she was hugging a small child. In the room where they both embraced, the child looks at me and then the mother. She was mumbling something but I could barely make out what she was saying.

Suddenly, I was pulled out of the vision by another force and I was losing consciousness a bit. Pretty soon everything turned black and I felt myself being weighed down by something. What is this? I thought. The more I try to understand what's happening the more I'm being pulled down.

It was getting hard to breathe.

Sinking further and further, I felt the wind blowing and suddenly carrying me around and around in circles. When it finally stopped, I found myself on the floor of a little room where it was a bit cramped and stuffy.

In the corner I saw a boy. He was holding a blanket over himself and a little girl in a basket was sound asleep. They were both so adorable. But suddenly, a loud noise startled and the baby immediately starts crying.

"Get over here you little bastard!" A voice shouted.

The boy didn't move to the sound. However, he looks at the hole that seems to be freshly new to their home and their mother was on the other side of it. She tells the boy to come along with his sister and they all make a run for it.

They ran as fast as they could. And they came across a boat with a couple of people waiting for them to arrive. "Hurry now, Anko." says the fisherman. "Kai get in the boat." Anko urged. Then suddenly, a fire ball came out of nowhere. The fisherman was a water bender so he used his skills to push the boat into the water.

When another fire ball was thrown, the boy's mother told them to get down but suddenly, my eyes flew open and I too was in the water. "Where am I?" I asked sitting up. "Please rescue him." A voice said. I looked behind me but I didn't see anyone!

Suddenly I heard running and screaming with a fireball coming straight for me! I try to get up however, my eyes shot open once again and I was lying down in a hospital bed.

"Asuna?" Akemi asked. "What happened?" I asked sitting up slowly. "Ease there sis," Akemi says helping me up. "When you trying to bend the darkness out of Mr. Kai some of it had got inside you and you passed out."

My eyes widened. That has never happened before. Then again, the darkness that was surrounding Mr. Kai was intense. I looked over and I see Mr. Kai had his eyes open and talking with his family but he was still weak. I can feel his pain a little and his struggle to fight off the darkness.

"Damn it," I grumbled. My sister placed her hand upon my shoulder. "Don't beat yourself up." She said. "It would appear that this one is stronger than the last one."

I nodded. Kanna sees that I'm up and quickly dashes over to my side. "Oh my gosh! Are you ok?" She asked, concerned. I gave a small smile. "I'm fine Kanna." I assured her. She placed her hand upon mine and I gave it a squeeze. "I'm so sorry that I couldn't fully bring your grandpa Kai out of his state. But I can feel him fighting off the darkness."

"And that's a good sign!" Akemi chimed in. Kanna nodded and smiled. "Thank you for even coming to help." She said, gratefully. "I'm pretty sure it took a lot out of you to even come here. With you being the avatar and all."

My eyes widen. Though I shouldn't be shocked that she figured out that I'm the avatar. I mean I did things that no other bender can do. But I didn't think it would be this soon that my true identity would be revealed. Kanna eyes started to beam as she can see upon my face that gave her the conformation that she needed.

"This is so cool!" She exclaimed. Causing the others to look and come to my side. "How are you feeling?" Asked Mrs. Pema. Her face was soften after I gave her reassurance that I was ok. However, it was far from the truth. My head was pounding a bit. And I couldn't get the images that I saw out of my head. I'm wondering if those images had something to do with Mr. Kai. If they do I have to find away to rescue him.

"Ugh," Mr Kai moaned. I held my head also from the pain that we were both feeling. "No stop it!" Mr Kai cried. "What's going on?" Kanna asked, worried. "Someone— is trying to," I stammered. The pain became more intense as Mr. Kai began screaming louder and louder. I need to find a quiet spot to focus.

I took a deep breath. I sat pretzel style in my bed and put my fists together and focused. There were tons of voices in my head. But the only voice I wanted to hear was Mr. Kai's. So I searched within my heart to connect me to him. In my mind's eye I can see the boat again. There on the boat was a boy, a woman and an angry man engulfed in flames.

"Leave them be," the woman cried in the boat. "Move Mizu!" Roared the raging man. "You've protected them long enough!" "You chosen them over me long enough! They must pay! They both shall pay! Starting with Kai!"
