The bus ride home for Gerard was the usual nightmare. The trash and other grime on the seats disgusted him. 'Yuck,' he thought. 'Kids are so fucking gross.'

Not to mention the group of seniors who always sat in the back and annoyed the entire bus with rude remarks and launching things they found on the ground up to the front seats. Gerard was a victim of them most days, and today they decided throwing his notebook out the window would be a good idea.

"Fucking assholes!" He shouted. "Why don't you leave me alone already?"

The school bus approached his stop and he got off and ran down the street to retrieve his notebook. A few pages had been torn out, but it was still okay. It was opened to the page where he had copied the phone number down off of his hand after he saw it in the book. He had forgotten about that. Proceeding to his house, he opened the door and went inside. He took the telephone and dialed the number, hesitated, then pressed the call button.

It rung three times before it was picked up.

"Hello?"
