"Why are you so quiet today?" I asked Ophelia, caressing her head that was kept on my chest.

"It is my parent's death anniversary tomorrow," she said softly.

"Oh," I whispered in shock.

I didn't know that.

"What do you want to do tomorrow?" I asked her.

"Nothing. Just stay in," she muttered and played with her bracelet.

"You must be...I mean the memories might be haunting you right now, right? Do you wanna talk about it," I asked her.

She looked up at me and said, "I don't want to tell you partial things, and I won't be able to tell you everything."

I nodded in understanding. It's her choice, and if she needs time, I am no one to force her.

"If you wanna talk, I am here," I assured her.

She looked at me with emotionless eyes and just nodded.

"Mama and dad called today. They are going to London. They said hi to you," I told her, diverting her attention.

"London?" she frowned.

"Yes, they are going to meet my extended family. Aunts and uncles," I told her.

"I didn't know that," she frowned.

"Yeah, I guess the topic never came up, did it? My dad has two sisters. They both live in London, so they have gone to see them," I told her.

"And Anastasia? How many siblings does she have?" she asked, snuggling into me.

"She doesn't have any siblings, but she is really close to one of her cousins. He stays in France," I told her.

"Wow, that's a huge family across Europe, huh? How many countries is that? Greece, England, Ireland, and France," she laughed.

Also, Italy.

"Yeah, it is. I guess once I am done with my work here, I'll take you back to Europe and we can go around and visit all the places. I want you to meet them all," I told her.

But, the smile on her face flattered, and she gulped and looked away.

I have noticed that since we came back from Greece last week, she has started doing this more often. Whenever I talk about doing something down a few months or in the future, she just looks away and doesn't say anything.

Sometimes, it makes me wonder if I should tell her how much I love her and that I want to stay married to her. But, then this behavior of her gives me mixed signals, making me contemplate whether I should or shouldn't tell her.

But, like I had decided, I am still going to give her one week, and after that week, I will decide if I am going to tell her or not. I am waiting for one solid reaction from her side, just one solid signal that she loves me too, and I am going to jump.

It is not that I am scared of rejection or anything. But, I am scared that if I mess up, I will lose her as a friend too, and that's exactly what I don't want. It would be okay for once if she doesn't feel the same, but I don't want her to feel awkward around me or decide something like not speaking to me at all or something.

"What about you?" I asked her.

"What about me?" she frowned.

"Do you have any extended family?" I asked.

"My dad had a brother but, he died a few years ago from a cardiac arrest and I was never really close to his wife or kids, so I have lost contact," she told me.
