Ophelia
I rubbed my eyes and rolled on the bed.
I habitually extended my arm behind me to reach out to my husband, but I frowned when I didn't feel anyone.
I opened my eyes and looked around to search for the man in question.
I sat up on the bed as I noticed the room was pretty empty.
Where did he go now?
I was about to call out his name when there was a sudden shower of rose petals over me.
I looked up to see that they were falling from the fan.
So, he did remember it.
I smiled and got out of bed.
"Ethan?" I called out.
But, when I didn't hear a response, I frowned and went to the washroom to get dressed.
After I came out, I walked to the dressing table.
As I was combing my hair, Ethan walked behind me and snaked his arms around my waist, hugging me from behind.
"Happy Vegas Anniversary," he whispered and kissed my shoulder.
"Happy twenty-five years," I smiled as I turned around and kissed him.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too," I told him.
"I can't believe it has been twenty-five years already. You still look the same as the day, I had met you, except the few grey hair," he told me, still holding me.
"Hmmm... you look the same too, except this," I said and pointed at his slightly belly.
"Ah! That's just twenty-five years of feeling contended," he shrugged.
"And this is twenty-five years of a beautiful and stressful life," I smirked him, pointing at my hair.
"Stressful?" he frowned.
"Well, I have been managing a home full of stubborn ass, egoistic, and arrogant people for twenty-five years," I shrugged.
He laughed and said, "Did you like the surprise in the morning?"
"Which one? The one where you were not in bed when I woke up?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
"If I had stayed in bed, I would have wanted to kiss you as soon as you woke up, which you wouldn't let me cause you hadn't brushed. So, I just decided to fix a nice breakfast instead," he shrugged.
"You cooked?" I asked, looking at him in horror.
"Are you crazy? I ordered," he scoffed.
"Oh, thank god!" I sighed.
"Let's go," he said and pulled me with him.
After we met in Seattle, Ethan and I had initially decided that we'd get married on the same day as we did in Vegas to keep the memories intact. After all, it was just seven months.
But, unfortunately, Ethan and I behaved worse than teenagers, and let's just say that at one point, I was scared that I would look like a whale on my wedding day. Call me old-fashioned, but I always wanted to have kids after marriage and at the rate we were going, the only way to make it possible was to either prepone the wedding or control our desires until we get married.
Hence, we preponded the wedding and got married the very next month itself.
We got married again in Amalfi Coast. What better place to start a new together than where we separated, right?
