Moonstruck

A full moon, in a cloudless sky, appeared in Bhadauliya that night. It was a sight to behold. The moon seemed like a huge chandelier hung in the velvety blue sky, that seemed to glitter here and there with stardust. And it seemed to sprinkle some magic on the lives of those who cared to look up into the sky and witness the moon in its full glory.

As a few nocturnal birds hooted away, calling out to their partners in the dead of the night. everyone in Bhadauliya slept a deep sleep.

But Urvashi stirred from her sleep, at that ungodly hour and looked to her right.

Her sleepy eyes seemed confused as she saw his form right next to her. And then her eyes widened in disbelief. He slept there, right next to her, a touching distance away, his upper body bare, her blanket covering his lover half, his hands folded at his chest and his face turned towards her.

Urvashi's breath quickened, as she watched him sleep next to her. And then the recollection came. She had kissed his every wound, as he held her apprehensively. And then she had kissed his eyes, his cheeks, and his lips, to reassure him with her kisses, what no words could convey to him.

When she had removed her saree and leaned on to him, she had seen his eyes sparkle with desire. But he let her lead, allowing her to dictate the flow of their passions. he had followed her lead, putting his own desires a close second to what she wanted, as she turned around, allowing him to come over her.

He had stayed over her, watching her closely, for any change in her reaction, for a long time, before he came on to her to kiss the hollow of her throat. And even when he kissed her, it was with such tenderness and delicacy, that he made her feel like a fragile piece of bone china. His touch, his kisses, and even the way, he ran his hands over her bare skin, conveyed to her, how hard he was trying not to hurt her in any manner fathomable.

When he had finally entered her, after what seemed like an eternity of delicate kisses and fondling, he had made sure, that she was pleasured to the summit of ecstasy first before he had derived his pleasure.

Urvashi closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. She felt contended like she had never felt before, she felt loved like she had never felt before and she felt as if a huge rock had been lifted off her chest. Never before had physical intimacy, seemed so poetic and reverential. Never before had she been given this poignant possession of a man's love, with such tender devotion.

She sat up, her bare back, smooth like a velvety dew-kissed rose petal. Her long tresses, came around her neck, to cover her heavy bosom, and her right hand, rubbed her neck from under her tresses. She looked to her left and picked up the thick shawl, from one of the pile of clothes. Wrapping the huge shawl around her chest, so it covered her to her thighs, she got up and walked up to the window and looked out into the moonlit sky.

In the distance, she could hear some owls hooting, a few frogs croaking and a few branches rustling, and the mild breeze. As a cool breeze flowed towards her, ruffling her hair, a few stands of her silky hair were whipped across her face. Urvashi took in another deep breath of the forest air.

As she opened her eyes and gazed towards her makeshift classroom, the cool rays of the moon, seemed to fall at the center of her line of vision. And out of rays, there seemed to take shape, a small form. As Urvashi watched from inside her hut, the small form slowly transformed into a little girl, all of three, her white dress attaining a brilliance in moonlight, that gave her a translucent effervescence. The little girl was laughing and then she saw Vikram, as he picked her up and threw her up into the air. The girl threw her head back and laughed, confident, that he father would catch her. Rightfully so, he caught her, bringing her close to himself in a protective hug. Both the girl and Vikram looked towards her and laughed a full-throated laugh.

Urvashi responded, her face breaking out into a lovely smile as she waved towards Vikram and her daughter playing outside.

Just then, she felt a pair of hands, come around her waist and felt Vikram's breath on her bare shoulder. Urvashi jerked her head around and looked at him and then turned back to look at the child and Vikram standing outside the house. That's when she realized what had happened. Her hands came over Vikram's as he held her close, it was a vision. It was the first time ever, that she had wanted a child. Her, own child.

Urvashi turned around to face Vikram. He looked at her and saw the fresh stream of tears flow from her eyes. he also saw the sweet smile on her face. Vikram's brows knotted in concern. He gently wiped the tears away from her face and brought her into his embrace. "What is it?" he whispered into her ears, as he hugged her close.

"I am very happy," she told her, face pressed into his chest, her arms around his waist.

Vikram hugged her harder, his eyes shut tight, as he held a tight check over his own emotions. Those were the words he had ached to hear. "This is what I needed to hear," he told her, as he bent over ad picked her up. he lay her down gently on the floor, and lay down next to her, holding her close to him.

Vikram and Urvashi both slept in each other's arms, for a few more hours, their hearts content with love.
