A sinking feeling spread through my body like a poison, dread made itself home in my stomach and I watched in horror as Natsu transformed into a thing of nightmares. He turned into a demon from the book of E.N.D, and here I was, helplessly heaving for breath on the ground, barely able to make a few raspy noises that where supposed to be my protests. I could barely utter his name, which broke my heart even more. But, he was still Natsu...
"Natsu..." it came out like a whisper but he had to of heard it. He turned to see me but he looked nothing like himself, something in him was gone. He had horns sticking out between spikes of his hair and scales covered even more of his body than when he used Dragon Force. His teeth where sharp and gleaming in his smirk as he turned back to Zeref who remained unchanged in his features.
"Come little brother, see if you really can kill me," Zeref cracks a small smile and I pale. Brother? My eyes widen and I stare at Natsu. How where he and Zeref brother's?! My thoughts where interrupted by the sounds of more explosions and the ground trembling immensely. Natsu and Zeref where at it again but this time Zeref really seemed to be struggling. But even if Natsu defeated Zeref, how was I going to turn Natsu back? He wasn't going to stay a demon forever, right...?
"I think you are letting me win now you bastard!" I heard Natsu laugh as he slammed into Zeref with his flaming lotus and I had to cover my face as a hot wind blew out from the spot of impact. I kept frantically trying to think of ways to turn Natsu back when I remembered something Master Makarov has murmured about before we where fighting Dreydek.
"Everything is in place now for the prophecy..." and he had been staring at Natsu and I. What was that prophecy? Was what he told me about keeping him from transforming into what he was now before me true? And if so could I manage to use it to bring him back? Rocks trembled around me again and I realized I had been dazed and out of it.
"I didn't keep Dreydek from destroying you only to have you fail to kill me, Natsu!" Zeref yelled out and again my breath caught. He saved us from Dreydek?! Zeref, the mass murderer? My thoughts ended abruptly as my breathing became even more labored. I choked on dust and I weakly pushed myself onto my legs and wiped at my mouth. I stood up and leaned on my good leg, shakily. I watched horrified as Natsu did in fact kill Zeref.
I watched Natsu kill someone, but even if it was Zeref, I couldn't help but sob. My mind went blank for a few moments, and when I became conscious and started realizing my surroundings again Natsu was standing in front of me in all of his fiery display. I looked at him terrified, tears escaping me at the sight of him.
He grabbed my wrist and held it tightly. I squirmed trying to break loose and he smirked darkly. I heard him challenge me to fight him. To defy him in that moment. I shook my head, I just couldn't fight him. Not because I was weaker, but because I couldn't bring myself to fight the person who held every part of me and more.
"I'm sorry, it hurts me but I just won't fight you," I shake my head. He drops my hand and glares at me.
"What happened to you..." I reach out to touch his face and he flinched away. My fingers curled back but I reached back out again. Please just let me hold your face again, even if it could be the last time... My hand reaches his cheek and he shudders. Fire burns brighter in his eyes and he starts to growl at me but I place my other hand on his cheek and pull myself closer to him and press my lips against his once more. I feel his hand creep it's way over my waist and hold me up off my crushed foot.
"I'm so sorry Lucy..." I hear him mutter from behind the kiss.

"Damn...that...Zeref..." A near-death Dreydek coughed from his place on the dark stone floor. His blood was still draining out and his eyes traveled to his exploded servants.
"I almost...had that...Dragon..." Dreydek coughs more. His breathing was shallow and quick, his lungs trying to compensate for something they couldn't fix.
"One...day...even he must fall." Dreydek goes limp and in a few moments his breaths can no longer be heard in the crumbling building. Scattered books and pages, maps, pictures and various broken pieces of furniture where scattered about. On the paper you could see notes scrawled about dragons, about the pink haired mage himself. There where pages about the blonde as well, files and notes and secrets.
Not a wind or a breath dared disturb that sad and lost man's resting place, not yet.

"Why did you do it?" I ask him with hesitance.
"I wasn't strong enough to do it without that power," he answered bitterly. I flinch at his response.
"You are strong enough, you could have done it," I insist softly. I hear him snort and I could see him shaking his head.
"I wasn't even able to kill a Dragon and you think I'm strong enough to kill Zeref without the aid of that magic?" He asks incredulously. I nod and bite my lip.
"You got stronger over time, didn't you?" I look over at him, a weak smile on my face. He meets my eyes and then looks forward again before folding his arms behind his head and leaving back in the grass on the hill. He was back to normal, no longer a demon. He stared up and stayed quiet for a long time.
"Lucy? Do you remember all that happened when we where under Dreydek's spell?" Natsu questions me as he glances my way.
"Well, do you?" I divert the question his way.
"Yeah, every detail," he meets my gaze and my face heats up. He grins and looks back at the sky.
"I take it you remember every detail too," he chuckles. I look away and puff my cheeks out and I scowl out of embarrassment. I pull my knees up and Natsu sits up again beside me. He suddenly pulls me to him and places a kiss on my lips.
"Hey Luce, guess what?" He asks me in a whisper. My heart hammers as I'm reminded of a night that seemed long ago now.
"What?" I respond almost breathless again.
"I do believe I can officially say you have been taken by a Dragon Slayer."

Oh my Mavis. It's done... Kinda short I know, but I feel proud of it. A quick version of the longer drawn out books that you can sometimes lose interest in. It feels like forever ago when I started this, I can't believe it's over! I know I gave no warning on the end, I'm sorry! It just feels like the right place to end it, and I can't go against my writers instinct. Anything else would make it feel forcibly drawn out.
I hope you all loved every bit of this, I know I did. Thank you so much for reading this, and keep being you! (Which is fabulous by the way!)
Sayonara!
